Vorgestern hat Dr. Bernhard Fuchs, Vorstand der Umicore AG & Co. KG, im Namen der gesamten Jury den Jurypreis des diesjährigen Nachhaltigkeitspreises der Stadt Hanau im Rahmen einer Online-Verleihung vergeben. Der Jurypreis zeichnet innovative und nachhaltige Ideen aus, denen bisher die Möglichkeit zur Umsetzung fehlte. In diesem Jahr ist das Projekt „Marienkir(s)chgang“ von LICHTBLICK - Stiftung der evangelischen Marienkirchengemeinde zu Hanau - der Gewinner des mit 3.000 € prämierten Jurypreises. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Initiative, die Menschen zusammenbringt, um die Innenstadt von Hanau noch lebenswerter zu machen. Umicore unterstützt den Hanauer Nachhaltigkeitspreis mit 6.000 €.

As the COVID-19 pandemic causes unprecedented challenges to all of us, Umicore’s number one priority is the health and wellbeing of all our employees. While production levels for both automotive catalysts and battery materials in Asia are now gradually picking up, elsewhere the automotive industry has been forced to shut down most of its assembly lines. Until automotive OEMs restart production, Umicore is temporarily shutting down most of its catalyst production capacity outside Asia. The Hoboken plant, together with the majority of Umicore’s other recycling facilities, is continuing operations.
Pending our return to normal operations and a full program of business events, Umicore’s social media messaging is focusing on COVID-19 related issues and other corporate or industry-wide news.
