🇪🇺 The German Bishop-Delegate to the COMECE Assembly Franz-Josef Overbeck attended an event on post-election challenges in Europe at the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the EU, in Brussels. He highlighted the role of politics and society, especially Churches, in enhancing EU cohesion.

Commenting on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he stated: "The war in Ukraine is symbolic of a system war, of the question of whether we in the EU defend democracy or whether we orient ourselves towards autocratic systems.
