Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organization for children and we deliver programs in more than 120 countries around the world.
Save the Children Europe Group is a network of Save the Children organisations working in ten European Union (EU) states and three non-EU states. Like other Save the Children organisations, its members work with and for children in their own countries and abroad. The principle of children's rights lies at the heart of the Save the Children Europe Group. Save the Children Europe Group's aim is to h
How do you help children who have been forced away from their home due to conflict and climate change?
Our solution is a comprehensive approach that combines education, protection, and psychosocial support. This essential strategy helps children recover, thrive, and continue their development, paving the way for a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Through this initiative, we are making a positive impact on the lives of 300,000 children in the Central Sahel 🌍
Thanks to EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid for supporting our project❤️
Together, we can create a future where every child has the opportunity to learn and grow 📚✨

🇪🇺 The EU Heads of State are gathering to decide on the names for EU top jobs: President of the Council of the European Union, President of the European Commission, and High Representative for the Union in Foreign Affairs and Security Policy External Action Service - EEAS, and will also adopt the strategic agenda for 2024-2029.
As we look to the future, children's rights must remain at the forefront of these discussions. Despite significant progress, many complex challenges persist, and we must continue to push for meaningful change.
Our latest publication, "The Future is Now," is packed with actionable recommendations for EU policymakers to drive change for millions of children around the world. 🌍👶

🌍 As the world celebrates the first EVER , we’re proud to share how we are making the universal right to play a reality for children across the globe. 🎈
📍 In Ukraine, play contributes to better mental health and well-being of children receiving psychosocial support in Save the Children’s child-friendly spaces. Here, children can process, cope with, and recover from the harsh realities of war, reclaiming their childhoods and enjoying time with friends in a safe and secure environment.
📍 In Mozambique, play helps children learn and prepares them for the future. It gives children the chance to form friendships and enjoy the childhood. Our Education in Emergencies ambulances are hard at work to help children catch up on missed education and return to formal schooling, all within a safe, inclusive, and hygienic environment.
Thanks to EU funding from EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid, children in Europe and around the world can better understand their experiences and communicate their feelings and thoughts.
Here’s to the power of play – which is especially important in times of crisis – and to the incredible resilience of children everywhere! 🌟
The results of the will make or break the future of children’s rights in the EU.
The shift in power and fragmentation in the new European Parliament may affect the EU political system, making it crucial for decision-makers to put children at the centre of their political agendas.

Five months of violence, displacement, starvation and disease compounded by nearly 17 years of blockade in have caused relentless mental harm to children. Save the Children's latest report highlights that almost all of Gaza's 1.2 million children require mental health and psychosocial support.
"While dodging bombs and bullets, fleeing through streets littered with debris and corpses, being forced to sleep in the open air and going without the basic food and clean water they need to survive, children in Gaza are going through a period of mass-scale shock and grief."
“There is still hope that, with adequate support, this can be reversed. Throughout childhood, there are critical windows of opportunity to address the impact of conflict. But none of this is possible without an immediate, definitive and safe, unfettered aid access so that humanitarians can provide the critical support needed,” - Jason Lee, Save the Children’s Country Director for the occupied Palestinian territory.
