Art for Everyone
Art for Everyone is the EXPAT ART CLUB in Brussels. Here you can follow classes, visit exhibitions, join guided tours or go on cultural day trips.
Everyone who speaks English is welcome, no matter what kind of background, race or ethical belief you have but of course "Art for Everyone" does not actually imply EVERYone as that is simply impossible (no sorry, I do not cater to 3 year old, Chinese-speaking girls ;-p). It merely means that you do not need to have any prior knowledge about art to be able to attend and enjoy my classes and activit
Now look at that.
Oooh, THAT's how they did it.
Human bodies created by filling liquid plaster from the outside into the gaps created by the disappearance of the bodies of people who died in the city of Pompeii as a result of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius approximately 2,000 years ago are exhibited.
It’s been absolut ages that I made a drawing for my Women in Obscurity series. This time around I wanted to portrait a lady in the middle of her life, not a girl or young woman. Because courage and power and wit don’t have an expiration date .
In Cancale they have a museum that teaches you about life in the region during the past centuries. You'll learn about oysters, ships, clothes and traditions. Good place if you want to know more about how this area evolved.
Because inside is the best place to be with this weather (and Namur is a nice city).
Exploring the limits of outer space in digital art show at Namur’s Le Pavillon While outer space continues to captivate mankind, human activity is also disrupting and threatening the planet and its ecosystems.
Women to the front!!

Visit to the Mathurin Méheut Museum in Lamballe, which has been housed in new, much bigger and brighter premises for a few years now. Beautiful display of the artist's works. He loved animals, especially sealife, and Brittany, meaning that he would capture little scenes of everyday life from the regular people around here. All that clad in beautiful colours makes it a joy to look at, again and again.
So many nice ideas.
A little poster exhibition in Amiens (at the Tourist Information Office), always with a link to either their magnificent cathedral or Jules Verne (who lived here)... or both. And a bit of street art, mostly from Saint-Leu (= the oldest part of town).
The Musée de Picardie in Amiens shows a nice variety of paintings, sculptures, earthenware and other objects besides being housed in a beautiful building. Definitely a must see if you're in the area (just 2,5 hours from Brussels).
Nowadays it's hard to tell whether an image is real or AI generated... but I simply think it's a wonderful photograph (even though I prefer Canon 😆).
It does look quite real.
The amazing Fish Pond Mosaic by Gary Drostle is crafted from vitreous ceramic tesserae using a 'reverse technique' and measures 2 meters in diameter. It was created for a small public garden in Croydon, Surrey, UK, and has been recognized with multiple art honors.
A big thank you to the Arts Society in Brussels for placing one of my drawings on the cover of their next program. I feel honoured!! 😃 They organise monthly lectures of outstanding quality, guided tours and the occasional extra event. You can join for a single activity or simply become a member (like me 😉) to support this wonderful organisation and the arts. Want to know more? Simply head over to their website: https://theartssociety.org/brussels (be careful to write artSsociety otherwise you'll end up with a different organisation 😆)
Ceramics fair in Paris a few weeks back.
Perfectly executed.
Amazing 3D mural by . These murals are mindblowing 😯 themindcircle.com/large-scale-murals/
Sometimes less is more and we all, including myself, have sooo much stuff.
All I need!🥰
One good thing about our tiny country having diffident holidays for its north and south regions is that the Wallonian art academies had their end of year shows this past weekend, whereas in the Flemish ones it was a week earlier. So I went to see the results at the École des Arts in Braine l’Alleud (south of Brussels) and was really blown away by the quality of their works. The exhibition still runs until tomorrow, July 2nd if you want to have a look yourself.
Thanks for the hint in any case,
Post 1/2: It’s been absolut ages that I’ve visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent (and that even though I do regularly go to the SMAK, which is just opposite). Anyway, it was time again and I’ll definitely be back more often now. Very nice collection of Old Masters but also lesser known artists and more contemporary talent.

The exhibition at the Arthus Gallery in Brussels that shows some works by Austrian artist Ulli Zerzer is coming to an end today. In case that you're not going to make it there yourself anymore here are a few of her gorgeous ceramics.
First Museum with female artists only (and a good reason to go to the south of France again 😉)!
‘Female art was a bargain — I created a gallery for the price of one male artist’ Christian Levett realised women’s modern art was relatively cheap. Now his collection has expanded to fill the first museum of its kind in mainland Europe
Yup, I'll go see this one of these days.

Last weekend the 20th edition of "L’Art pour L’Accueil", a charity event where the money you pay for an artwork is used to support a good cause, took place at Hangar Art Centre. Loads of local artists and galleries donated an artwork for this exhibition.

Prior knowledge about art is not necessary to be able to attend and enjoy the classes and activities.
ART CLASS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES OFFERED
Drawing for Beginners (15 classes, 2 hours per week)
1 class = 40€
5 classes = 190€ (equals 38€ per class)
If you start with just 1 class the price for it will be deducted from the price of 5 classes if you decide to go for this formula afterwards.
Guided Tours
I myself am an official guide at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels so if we have a guided tour over there I will usually guide it myself. However, at other locations I will reply on the expertise of one of my esteemed colleagues. The guided tours usually last for approximately one hour and the maximum number of paricipants is set at 15 people most of the time.
Art Visits
These are activities without guided tours. As there is a lot going on in and around Brussels and we will sometimes meet up simply to enjoy a certain exhibition or show together. But of course they also regularly organize wonderful exhibitions in the not so close vicinity. And because it is always more fun to go on a little day trip like this together (plus we can share the costs for gas and parking) I will occasionally post different exhibitions here that I personally want to see and perhaps you are interested in joining.
Intensive weekend classes, day trips and art visits are organized at irregular intervals.
