When you have a friend who’s an amazing ⭐️ chef. When he believes in your work. When he makes a beautiful book and asks the best photographer to shoot his dishes. Then suddenly my ceramics are taken to an extra dimension. Thank you my friend, thank you for believing in me.

Aujourd’hui j’ai dis au revoir à mon ombre. J’ai le coeur gros. Mais parfois dans la vie il faut prendre des décisions difficiles. L’atelier ne sera plus jamais le même. Ta présence et ton sourire (oui oui Lisa savait vraiment sourire) va nous manquer à tous. Tu ne te plaignais jamais , toute la communication se faisait par ton regard de velours. Dors bien ma toute belle. 💔😢❤️

Why is handmade pottery expensive. Because it takes time to make something imperfectly perfect. I put all my love and patience in my work. Weighing, kneading, centering, practicing the perfect form, waiting for it to be dry enough to be trimmed, than waiting for it to be dry enough to be baked , a first bake at 950 degrees, glazing , a second bake of 1230 degrees. Just before it’s finished it get’s an extra sanding of the bottom, just to be sure not to scratch your table surfaces. Enjoying every moment of the process! ♥️

Today was a productive day!
-unloading the kiln ( not to many surprises/ had my part of kiln s**t the last few times 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦‍♀️🙄). - reloading the kiln with more plates. - preping lot’s of clay for coffee tumblers - making the tumblers. I love it when everything works as it should. Some days are just better than others! Today was a good one!

In the studio, even on Sunday, one of the positive things when you have your studio at home. Damn I love my job!

While waiting for the kiln to cool down, wrapping the first part of an order in different shades of white. The clay I used is actually a building clay with big chamotte, so my hands suffered a lot for this order…but so excited and happy about the result!
