Food makes part of our daily needs...time to reflect about it...
The FoodxFilm Festival aims to address the future of food both in terms of scarcity and abundance with an eye toward building sustainability, fairness, and systems transformation. Food is the great messenger, an ancient identifier, an ever-arching bridge from the past to the future. We cross these bridges with film—the most powerful storytelling tool of our time. Story communicates knowledge, offers perspectives on our understanding of our world, prescribes how we might treat and see each other, and lets us imagine a better future.

Thanks to Fevia, Alimento, Alpro and prof Raes for organising this interesting visit. Hopefully next year we will be able to visit them in real!! But, fair is fair, we were also happy not having to travel in the rain 😏

Why study Food Technology?
The overall objective of IUPFOOD is to provide multi-disciplinary and specialized academic training in the field of food technology.
IUPFOOD intends to equip future alumni with the scientific, technical and managerial knowledge, skills and attitudes which they require to contribute successfully to solving problems related to food security through the production of safe foods of high quality. Although oriented towards international students in general, the IUPFOOD programme in particular recruits students from the South (countries in Africa, Asia and South America) where food/nutrient security (delivering enough nutritious, high-quality safe foods) is a current and future major concern and key challenge.
Two technological dimensions of crucial importance in food processing and preservation are the key objectives and programme options in IUPFOOD:
1) Postharvest and food preservation engineering, with focus on the role of postharvest and food preservation unit operations in delivering safe and nutritious foods, in particular plant based foods, to the end consumer;
2) Food science and technology, with focus on the transformation of raw materials in products for human consumption or in intermediate ingredients for further use in the food industry.
