You might have already spotted 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦 during your visits to the University Library. 🔥🗿 Yesterday this giant sculpture by the Spanish artist Jaume Plensa was officially inaugurated.

This piece is part of his series 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, with the other sculptures located in the Hertogenpark. Fire serves as a poignant reminder of the library's tragic history, having been burned down twice.

KU Leuven will soon celebrate its 600th anniversary! 🎂 Every celebration calls for music, so we've asked Kevin Houben to compose a new musical piece. Maud Vanhauwaert, our writer-in-residence, will write the lyrics for his work.

We didn't have to look far for the performance of this new composition. A staggering 250 student musicians of the Universitair Symfonisch Orkest, the Leuvens Universitair Koor, and the Universitair Harmonieorkest Leuven will share the stage.
