Fascia Manipulation Study: Beating Chronic Pain and Respiratory Troubles

A. Description of Patient
👨‍🏫Male
😀40 years old
😖Chronic pain in left shoulder blade/neck area
🙀Previous injuries on the right arm

II. Patient's Symptoms
🖖Constant pain with radiation to fingers
😿Occasional severe pain
😮‍💨Strong migraines every 2 months
🫁History of respiratory issues and irritable bowel syndrome

Based on this information, I started a treatment focusing on the respiratory-digestive sequence. After the session, the patient felt lighter, and the pain was completely gone. In a follow-up session two weeks later, we continued to see progress, and I continued with the treatment. Over the course of two months, I saw the patient three times.

Later, I received a message from him saying that his migraines had stopped, he was breathing better, and he no longer had radiation in his fingers or pain in his shoulder blade or neck.

Luigi Stecco has found important points in the deep connective tissue through studying cadavers with Carla Stecco and Antonio Stecco. Fascial Manipulation includes gathering a detailed medical history, performing movement tests, and identifying areas for treatment by feeling for specific dense connective tissue points. Understanding the medical history is vital for figuring out if the painful area is the source of the pain or if it's compensating for a past issue, like an old ankle injury causing pain in the knee or hip.

Fascia Manipulation by Stecco is the method that I use in my practice.

June brings sunny days, cosy cuddles with my cats, and fun times with friends. Can't forget the learning fascial manipulation sessions! 💕❤️‍🔥

On one of the April weekends, my mom came to visit me. Some time ago, I promised her that we would visit the tulip festival in the Netherlands. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day and see the flowers blooming. The next day, we went to Pairi Daiza, watched animals and petted the goats. It was a lovely family activity. 🐐❤️💐

The fascia is a thin covering made of collagen fibre layers that tightly cover our muscles, nerves, veins, and organs. It helps these parts communicate, transfer force between muscles, and activate muscle fibres smoothly and correctly. It also helps nerve mobilisation without the risk of damage.

A loose connective tissue between these layers works like grease, allowing the layers to glide smoothly over each other, allowing us to perform simple and complex movements.

Sometimes, pain and limitations in movement can happen within the fascia. Are you curious to learn more about what triggers this issue? I'll elaborate more in future posts.

Italy! 🇮🇹 I had a very productive and exciting time during my internship. I could follow and learn from one of the instructors to improve my analytical skills.

☀️Apart from that, I took a day off to visit Garda Lake, which was a pleasant way to rest and unwind. Attending the Level 2 Fascial Manipulation by Stecco course was a great way to learn and practise my palpation skills.

Great job managing my time so effectively and making the most of my free time! I am amazed at how much I achieved during that visit. 🥰

Do you suffer from chronic neck pain? ⬇️Read this on improving your quality of life by eliminating annoying pain⬇️

As a physiotherapist, I can help patients better understand their condition and make informed decisions about treatment options.

🫣No person ever woke up with a stiff neck without thinking, ‘What happened last night that made me feel this way?’

💁Stiffness in the neck can’t be explained better without mentioning the mindfulness of keeping the correct posture and movements to prevent further strain on the neck muscles. Therefore, please pay attention to your posture and don’t ignore small improvements.

What is most fascinating is that Fascial Manipulation researcher - Carla Stecco also studied the reason behind stiffness and pain in your neck.

What’s the best for the stiffness in the neck from my perspective?
🫵First, Physical therapy combines losing the tight muscles, then exercises and stretches that can help improve flexibility and range of motion in the neck muscles.

Reach out if you suffer from neck pain. I’ll find a quick solution for that.

Important info, please don’t skip it!📯

If you are planning to visit my office for physiotherapy, let me tell you how to be well-prepared for your visit.

During the examination, I'll ask you some questions which may seem random, but trust me, they'll help me identify the root cause of your problem. By sharing your detailed medical history with me, including any:

❎Past injuries
❎Accidents
❎Surgeries
❎Visceral problems

…you may have experienced at any point in your life. It'll help me create a personalised treatment plan just for you. So, get ready to embark on a journey towards a pain-free and active lifestyle with me. I'll be your guide throughout the process!

As captured in the picture🤪 I have planned to prioritise my professional and personal growth this year. As a result, I may be out of the office more frequently than in 2023.

🇮🇪To begin with, I have an upcoming internship in Italy from March 4th to March 7th. Following that, from March 8th to March 10th, I will attend a Level 1 Fascial Manipulation by Stecco course (which will be my 3rd time now), but this time fully in Italian! Andiamo!

🇩🇪There is a seminar about energy scheduled in Germany towards the end of March, from the 23rd to the 24th.

😁Moreover, I have an onsite meeting for my FM school in May.

🤩I'm pumped about these opportunities and ready to rock and roll. Balancing work and fun? No sweat, I've got this. Let the good times roll!

Are you experiencing bloating, constipation, heartburn, or food allergies? I use that information while interviewing you for my physiotherapy method.💁‍♀️Find out why⤵️

💡While these seem like common digestive problems, they could be the reason for your muscular pains. Let me explain in simple terms. Each organ in your body is surrounded by a particular layer called fascia, which is connected to the trunk of your body by ligaments. These keep your organs in place. But when an organ isn't working correctly, the fascia around it thickens and pulls on the ligaments, which can cause pain in other parts of the body, like your back.

😌Don't let these issues hold you back from living your best life. Take charge of your health and find relief from your symptoms at my physiotherapy practice.

Hey there! I've developed a new approach to our interview process to make things easier for you.

☝️ As a first step, I'll send a questionnaire to every first-time patient with basic questions related to their current problem and medical history. By gathering this information beforehand, we can make the most of our time together during the initial appointment.

🧾Based on the information provided in the questionnaire, I suggest scheduling 3-4 follow-up appointments over the next few weeks to continue the treatment. This will allow me to closely monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

🥰Rest assured, this approach is designed to provide you with the best possible care and help you achieve optimal health outcomes. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to let me know.

I kicked off this year with another Fascial Manipulation studies in Padova, Italy 🇮🇹 ❤️ The experience of sharing our knowledge, exploring fresh outlooks, and learning from the best is simply unique ❤️ I feel incredibly fortunate to be a student at the International School of Fascial Manipulation, which is much more than just a school.

It's an ever-growing global community of remarkable individuals and therapists who are genuinely passionate about helping others, and they strive to be the best in their field ❤️

Wow, what a year it has been! 😁Although it feels like it has just started, it's already over. Between my daily practice, school, additional courses, the online course of Feel Relieved and Fit, travelling, and everything else, it seems like I barely had time to catch my breath. But don't worry, I always make sure to take a moment to appreciate the good things in life and create lasting memories.

In 2023:
🫶I helped more than 50 patients
📑I spent countless hours learning FM
🧘‍♀️I ran 2 editions of Feel Relieved and Fit classes
✈️I visited 5 countries
🏃‍♀️I exercised on average 3 days a week
🐾I looked after 30 cats at the shelter
😋I baked at least 10 cakes

💪Biggest lesson learned: never give up
🥰Best advice you received: slow down and enjoy the moment/ carpe diem
🫂For what you are most thankful: family

This year, I wanted to continue the tradition of visiting Christmas markets, and there you go. I am obsessed with Christmas time. It’s the moment to connect with my inner child and just go to have fun.

I was planning to go to Germany this year, but December is passing very quickly, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to make it. However, I did visit Pairi Daiza with Christmas decorations and our local Christmas market in Ittre. Both were amazing and worth visiting! They were unique and had a real magical atmosphere.

What markets have you visited so far?

20/12/2023

Hey lovelies! 🫶 I hope you’re busy with the prep for the festive season. And guess what? I’ve been planning my Christmas break too.

💁I just wanted to give you a heads-up that at the beginning of the year, I'll be heading to Italy for a really exciting in-person school meeting! I'll be away from December 22, 2023, until January 10, 2024.

I'm looking forward to this trip, but I'll miss working with you. If you need anything before I leave, just let me know, and I'll be happy to help you out. 🤓

I am obsessed with sharing this knowledge with you!🤓

🤫I’ve been using a secret technique for treating my patients effectively by manipulating the fascia.

Fascia is a connective tissue that can become stiff and restricted due to injury, inflammation, overuse or lack of activity. I can help alleviate pain, improve mobility, and promote healing without even working in the area of your pain simply by understanding your body’s history and working with surgical precision only on the points that are restricted.

✨🌟🌟As a physiotherapist, it's important for me to inform my patients about Fascial Manipulation by Stecco. This technique can significantly aid in the recovery process and improve one's overall well-being. Educating patients about the benefits and techniques involved in Fascial Manipulation can empower them to be active participants in their healing journey.

💁Additionally, mastering this technique is crucial for my professional growth and development as a physiotherapist, allowing me to provide the highest level of care to my patients and expand my knowledge and skills in the field.

I’m trying very hard to fit you all in my tight schedule but even so I end up with a long waiting list for each week 🙏🥰 most of the time I’m able to see everyone and here’s a request to you:

👉🏻 if you know you’re not able to make it to your appointment please cancel it in advance and give someone else a chance to take your spot 🥰

👉🏻 Also if you’re thinking about making an appointment with me, I can put you on a waiting list but there is a chance I won’t be able to see you this year 🙈

Have a great weekend! ❤️

Poznan, you had me at a Physiotherapy course 🐈‍⬛☕️

As a physiotherapist, I'm always looking for opportunities to learn and grow. That's why I recently travelled to Poznan in Poland for a physiotherapy course in Fascial Manipulation Internal Dysfunctions. While I was there, I also had some free time to explore the city that I love so much.

One of my favourite things was visiting Raj Dla Kociarzy (A Heaven for Cat lovers), a shop selling products related to cats. My mum discovered that place a year ago so I had to revisit it and buy some more items. This time I ended up with a pair of beautiful earrings!

For the next few days, while I was studying, Marcus was exploring the city and slowly falling in love with it.

The course itself was one of the most complex I’ve done and I know I will have to come back to that knowledge to understand it better but I can’t wait to practise it on my patients! Of course, no trip to Poznan would be complete without treating myself to coffee.

Overall, I had an amazing time in Poznan. It's a beautiful city with a lot to offer. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!

25/10/2023

I've been thinking a lot about something lately, and I realised it's something that I've seen in my patients as well as myself.

Life can be so chaotic sometimes, with staying late at work, watching another episode, or scrolling on social media. But where is "me" in all of that? How do we navigate our physical and mental needs? And how normal is it to intentionally numb ourselves and push aside self-care for another, better time?

My personal reflection is that we need to stay present, try to find inner peace in the chaos, read a book, go for a walk, exercise for 20 minutes, or just simply connect with our inner child again. It's important to take care of ourselves, even when life is crazy.

So let's all try to do a little bit better at that, okay?

Did you go somewhere this summer? How did you celebrate yourself and your passions?

I was lucky to catch the last moment of summer while being in Italy recently. I went there mainly for the purpose of the course of Fascia Manipulation but also to breathe something fresh into my lungs. How much I love that country! The reasons are many but definitely one of those undoubtable are pizza, coffee and gelato.

I didn’t want to go back but it was the last in-person course edition for this year. I am STILL totally fascinated with Luigi’s Fascial knowledge and demonstrations. I had a busy but also overwhelming time trying to remember all of that information on the go.

Although, the next time I’m going to Italy will be in January next year. I’m on a day count at the moment!

Hey there, lovely people! 🤗As some of you have noticed, I returned from my holidays.

As the days fly by and we find ourselves caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's essential to pause and reflect on the importance of taking those much-needed holidays. 🏖️

I recently had the chance to escape the daily routine and spending quality time with loved ones, making memories, and exploring new places is nothing short of magical. 💫

🕰️ It reminds me of the significance of finding that necessary balance between life and work. We often get so caught up in our professional targets that we forget to nourish our souls and create lasting moments with those who matter most. 🌟

Remember, life is not just about the hours we clock in at work, but also about the laughter, hugs, and shared experiences with our family and friends. 🤗

So, here's a friendly reminder to carve out time for adventures, to make room for spontaneity, and to cherish every moment that brings us closer to the people we hold dear. 🚀

Let's celebrate the beauty of taking a break, hitting that reset button, and returning stronger, more energised, and ready to conquer our goals with renewed vigour. 🙌

What's your favourite way to find that work-life balance and make time for your loved ones? Share your tips and experiences in the comments below! Let's inspire each other to make the most of every day. 💖

Hello everyone! Some of you already know that I will be at school between the 20-27.09. I’m so excited to see my classmates and continue learning about the fascinating world of fascia! 🥰

What form of sports activity brings you joy?

We often speak about doing sports in the context of looking attractive and having discipline towards some external goal. However, does it have to be specified this way only? What if having a healthy lifestyle (that includes a balanced diet and regular activities) would the end goal be just a side effect of it?

Why can’t we focus on creating happy moments by practising the sport that we love?

What are your favourite exercises?

My ones are indoor climbing, pole dancing and running.

It's your turn now. What sport brings you joy? I’d love to hear from you so share your pics below!

When it comes to the medical industry, trust is the foundation of everything we do. 💙

Stepping into a doctor's office, a therapist's room, or a physiotherapist's practice is filled with a mix of emotions - hope, expectations, and yes, concerns too.

In my practice, I very often come across those patients who have lived in prolonged pain and seek answers to their suffering.

Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is predominant in my approach. I carefully listen to every detail, providing an environment of truthfulness.

I ensure that every person who comes to my practice has my full support, and attention so together, we'll navigate the healing process.

FYI: I’m on my holiday break at the moment so please give me more time to respond to your requests.

Woop - woop.

Somehow this is a controversial opinion:
Patient’s' fitness is a priority - full stop.
Way too many physios forget this basic rule.

👉Case in point - my past customer was treated with a massage gun to a very painful moment when at the end of 6 appointments he couldn't move his arms up.

When my patients have a problem, they need help, not gaslighting and NOT continuing with old-fashioned methods.🤦‍♀️

Patients may be feeling frustrated or anxious when they come for help. It is important to be patient and understanding and to listen to their concerns.

The experience which is delivered to the patients could make or break physiotherapist practice. So, let's stop making patients' lives harder when they have an issue.🫣

✨Great customer service isn't just the right thing to do. It is a crucial element of successful practices. For me, the patient's needs should always come first.

19/07/2023

What could be better than feeling good in your body physically and mentally?

There is no secret to say how regular activity can help improve mood and energy levels! 👉

😁I’m the best example! Look, you know me. I am a busy girl who works full time and studies Fascial manipulation. I love summertime! Especially when the sun is out I want to do even more.

📌Try some summer outdoor activities when the weather is good. If you're looking for ways to stay motivated consider finding an exercise buddy or joining a fitness class. There is plenty around including my Feel Relieved and Fit programme that starts in October 2023.

Afterwards, don’t forget to reward yourself for your accomplishments by practising gratitude.💅

💃And remember, even a little bit of exercise is better than none at all! So get moving and enjoy the benefits!
