It's time for the KICRO Project update! 🌿🍇🍍

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been making incredible progress on our educational materials for the KICRO Project! Recently, we’ve been working hard on translating the chapters about the importance of different fruits, ensuring that knowledge about sustainable farming and healthy diets is accessible to everyone. 🌍🍎

One of the highlights? Raspberries! These incredible shrubs produce delicious fruits that are not only tasty but packed with health benefits. Did you know that raspberries are rich in anthocyanins, which give them their red or purple color? These compounds have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, making raspberries a fantastic addition to a healthy diet.

🍇 Fun fact: Raspberries are a great source of vitamin C, which is essential for forming collagen, supporting immune function, and even helping with wound healing. Plus, they may have anti-cancer effects and can help reduce cholesterol and sugar levels thanks to their fiber content!

Each chapter is full of fascinating details about the importance of fruits in our diet and sustainable farming practices.
Some info about raspberry from its chapter:
Raspberries (Malus x domestuca Borkh) are shrubs with tasty and healthy fruits eaten raw or as preserves. Their health-promoting properties are due, among other things, to the presence of anthocyanins - the components that give the fruit its red or purple colour. Anthocyanins have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Raspberries are most commonly used to make juices and jams or eat fresh fruit, e.g., in desserts. Recent studies have shown that they also have anti-cancer effects, and the fibre they contain reduces sugar and cholesterol levels. Raspberries are also a source of vitamin C, which is necessary for forming collagen, which forms connective tissue, improves wound healing fracture regeneration, protects against bleeding and bruising, stimulates the immune system, and facilitates the fight against pathogenic microorganisms.

Raspberries are shrubs that like a sunny position, but they also do well in partial shade. When choosing a variety, it is worth paying attention to when the bush bears fruit. The range of fruiting times between different raspberry varieties can vary - from spring to autumn. There are also differences in fruit colours. Red is the most popular, but yellow and black can also be found. The biggest problem in raspberry cultivation is stem blight, usually caused by a complex of pathogens.

In April, we had an incredible 3-day training in Novi Pazar, Serbia, alongside our amazing partners from Italy, North Macedonia, and Serbia, as well as the Bulgarian participants from the AAutism TODAY - аутизъм ДНЕСorganization. Together, we dove deep into understanding the different spectrums of autism, met inspiring professionals in the field, and produced 8 insightful videos aimed at raising awareness about autism and ways we can offer support.

KICRO Project presents: Revolutionizing Agriculture: A Deep Dive into Agriculture 4.0

In recent years, the agricultural sector has undergone a profound transformation with the integration of cutting-edge technologies, giving rise to what is now known as Agriculture 4.0. This new era in farming leverages advanced digital technologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in agricultural practices. In this article, we will explore the key components of Agriculture 4.0 and its impact on the future of farming.
Agriculture 4.0 emphasizes precision farming, where farmers use technologies such as GPS, sensors, and data analytics to optimize field-level management with regard to crop farming.
Precision farming enables accurate application of inputs, efficient irrigation, and real-time monitoring of crops, leading to increased yields and reduced environmental impact.

Moreover, the Internet of Things plays a pivotal role in Agriculture 4.0 by connecting physical devices on the farm to the internet. 🔍From Kicevo, North Macedonia, and Sofia to Patras, Greece the team has been working “silently”, and now has completed its first two transnational meetings (in Kicevo for the opening meeting and in Patras for the training workshop on 6-7 September) we feel strong, connected and with all the necessary energy and resources to enter the combat against intimate partner violence (IPV).

The project's mission is to:
- train youth workers and professionals on how to identify and safely intervene in cases of IPV
- to raise awareness of the general public on sociocultural causes and the impact of IPV and provide tools for providing help and support
- to provide support and empowerment to women in possible danger or previously affected by IPV

🎯The goals of the project will be achieved through workshops for youth workers and professionals & workshops women in possible danger or previously affected by IPV, as well as an information campaign for the wide public and knowledge exchange among partners from North Macedonia, Greece, and Bulgaria.

🚀 E-lit Adults EU Project Update!

Over the past few months, our dedicated E-lit Adults consortium has been conducting in-depth research on energy poverty across our partner countries. 🌍

🎓 After completing this research, KTU Kauno technologijos universitetas/Kaunas University of Technology developed a comprehensive report detailing the differences, similarities, and gaps in daily habits, knowledge, skills, and experiences related to energy literacy among adults at risk of energy poverty in five EU countries.

Compare and contrast energy literacy knowledge and skill gaps among adults at risk of energy poverty, identifying key areas for improvement.

🔍BeHerVoice project focuses on:
- educating the community on how to identify and intervene in cases of IPV, to ensure the safety of those affected, as well as on the causes and impact of IPV
- raising youth workers' awareness regarding IPV as well as giving them tools to increase their capacity to provide assistance and support
- providing support and empowerment to IPV survivors to gain control of their lives.

What methodology will be used during the project?
📌Customized activities, experiential workshops, and collaborative design with partner organizations will focus on knowledge exchange.

The MIL Skills partnership has been actively working on researching the national situation in each country regarding the knowledge of senior citizens about disinformation, fake news, and how they influence their choices. The results we have collected are compiled into a report that will be uploaded on the project's website and used as a base for the development of innovative educational materials.
