On August 8, 2024, Taylor R., a rising high school senior and active participant at the Naval Support Activity Bahrain Youth Center, was named the National Military Youth of the Year โจ
Over six years, Taylor has become a key contributor to his Boys and Girls Club-affiliated youth center, helping to coach football, basketball, and soccer leagues, revitalizing their Keystone Club, and participating in the Teen Employment Program. He has also maintained a 4.15 GPA and logged over 215 hours of community service in the past year ๐
Taylor attributes much of his growth as a leader to his involvement with the Boys and Girls Club.
โFrom first to eleventh grade I have spent time with caring staff that prepared me to become the confident, forward-thinking leader that I am today. From a very young age, I learned the importance of hard work, respect, setting an example for others and leading my peers.โ he expressed.
He highlights his diverse experiences at Boys and Girls Club-affiliated centers during his childhood when reflecting on his inclusive outlook towards others. โI believe that recognizing and celebrating our differences empowers us to reach our full potential as individuals and as a generation.โ Taylor remarked.
At the state and regional stages of the Military Youth of the Year program, Taylor received $22,500 in college scholarships. During the National Military Youth of the Year event in Washington, D.C., he earned an additional $20,000 scholarship, bringing his total to $42,500. After graduating high school, he intends to attend Brigham Young University-Idaho to study engineering, music, and education ๐

Dana graduated from Bahrain School in 2005 and went on to study architecture and design in London. She is now the Founder and Creative Director of her own design firm โDA Architects and Interiorsโ in the United Arab Emirates.
โAs I reflect on my journey from Bahrain School I canโt help but marvel at the role my alma mater has played in shaping the trajectory of my life. Looking back I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the foundation this institution provided me.
The nurturing environment, the dedicated faculty, and the diverse community all played pivotal roles in laying the foundation that became the bedrock upon which I built my career in architecture and designโ
At Bahrain School, Dana learned more than just academics; she learned the value of perseverance, the importance of collaboration, and the power of embracing diversity. The holistic education received at Bahrain School goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. It instills in students a passion for learning, a thirst for exploration, and a commitment to excellence that would guide them throughout their professional journey. The diverse student body and dedicated faculty at Bahrain School foster an environment of creativity, collaboration, and cultural understanding, essential qualities in the field of architecture and design.
โArmed with the values and skills imparted by Bahrain School, I embarked on a new chapter of my academic journey, pursuing my architectural degree in the bustling metropolis of London. I navigated the challenges of higher education with confidence and determination. It was the resilience and adaptability instilled in me by Bahrain School that enabled me to thrive in a new environment far from home. Inaugurating my own architecture and interior design firm was the culmination of years of hard work, passion, and unwavering dedication. Guided by the principles instilled in me by Bahrain School โ integrity, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
Bahrain School has not just prepared me for the future; it has empowered me to shape it. And for that, I will forever be grateful.โ
