'Skin Tones in Colored Pencil: Introduction to Colored Portrait Drawing', as the title suggests, was created for those who want to start to draw colored portraits but are afraid of giving it a first try. I created simple exercises to give you a chance to start slow and draw a portrait from a reference photo after practicing the layering and blending techniques.

I'll also show you the tools I recommend using, but, spolier: you don't need expensive materials to watch this class! 😉

🇺🇸 Last drawing of the year!

I took some time these days to draw this eye. I tried to shade by applying graphite and charcoal powder directly onto the paper, which I don’t do normally. I like the way it came out, as it looks smoother than usual. I just have to learn how to have more control of this technique.

For the next year I will dedicate most of my time to record more drawing classes, so I’m going to post here less often, but stick with me because I’ll be announcing some exciting news through 2023!

🇧🇷 Último desenho do ano!

Eu tirei um tempinho estes dias para desenhar este olho. Tentei sombrear aplicando pó grafite e carvão diretamente sobre o papel, o que eu normalmente não faço. Gostei do jeito que ficou, pois ele parece um desenho mais suave que outros que fiz. Eu só preciso aprender a controlar melhor essa técnica.

Para o próximo ano eu vou dedicar a maior parte do meu tempo para gravar mais aulas de desenho, então eu estarei postando por aqui com menos frequência, mas fique comigo porque eu estarei anunciando grandes novidades ao longo de 2023!

🇺🇸 It’s done! Finally!

This was the most challenging drawing I did so far. It has a lot of details and I decided to draw it mixing charcoal with graphite, which I’m not that used to do – I usually draw using only graphite. It was worth taking the risk: it’s my favorite drawing I ever did.

Este foi o desenho mais desafiante que fiz até aqui. Ele tem muitos detalhes e eu resolvi desenhá-lo usando carvão e grafite, o que não estou acostumado a fazer – eu normalmente desenho apenas com grafite. Valeu a pena correr o risco: é o meu desenho favorito dentre todos os que fiz.
