Did you know today is being recognized as International Repetitive Strain Injury Awareness Day? Today I wanted to shed some awareness of what that is.
RSI is not just one thing, it’s actually any injury caused by consistently doing the same movements, leading to misuse or overuse, and it can affect either your nerves, muscles or tendons.
RSIs are most common amongst those with desk jobs where most time is spent in a repetitive position. This also includes musculoskeletal disorders, such as carpal tunnel syndrome (the leading condition), which has had a most significant and alarming spike in recent years.
As always, prevention is key, so if you have not yet begun to experience any RSIs we implore you to take very seriously the importance of movement, stretching and a proper WFH space; you can also contact me by visiting the link in my bio
