From August 27th – 30th, the Transportation Security Administration - TSA hosted partners from the Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas (CAAB), Airport Authority (AA) Lynden Pindling International Airport, and Freeport Airport Development (FAD) at the TSA Regional Operations Center (ROC) in Miramar, FL. The purpose of this strategy session was to share best practices amongst aviation security experts and develop a strategy for the coming 2025 fiscal year. The aviation security professionals reviewed national and airport level programs used to mitigate vulnerabilities throughout the Bahamian and United States aviation system, using data derived from assessments and audits conducted by both countries. Based on the data analysis, TSAs Bahamian partners identified root causes and developed mitigation plans that will address deficiencies in the Family Islands. The session closed with the Bahamian team presenting their strategy to executives from the Civil Aviation Authority and Airport Authority. As a result, TSA, CAAB, AA and FAD have developed a strategy that will be used for the coming year.

Happy !

Today commemorates the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on Aug. 26, 1920, which granted women the right to vote. This day marks a significant milestone in establishing equal rights for all women in the United States.

In celebration, our Charge d’Affairs Kim Furnish hosted a wonderful luncheon to honor the progress we’ve made towards women’s equity and to discuss how we can continue to drive forward momentum. 🌟

We were joined by several inspiring women leaders within and outside the Embassy, who shared their insights and experiences. The Charge emphasized the importance of supporting equity both inside and outside the Embassy. 💪

Together, we are committed to creating a more equitable future for all. Let’s keep pushing for progress and counting her in! 💜
