Bahamas Men’s National Soccer Team Ready for Upcoming CONCACAF Nations League Matches.
Nassau, Bahamas -[September 3, 2024] – The Bahamas Football Association (BFA) is proud to announce the roster for the Bahamas Men’s National Soccer Team, known as the Junkanoo Boyz, as they prepare to compete in the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches. The team is fully focused on representing The Bahamas with determination and skill as they face their upcoming opponents.
Team Bahamas will play the US Virgin Islands, on September 4, 2024, at 6:00 PM EST at Bethlehem Soccer Complex, Saint Croix, US Virgin Islands. Their second game is September 7, vs Barbados 3:00 PM EST at the Bethlehem Soccer Complex. Due to the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium renovations, the team will play its "home" game against Barbados in Saint Croix, US Virgin Islands. However, the Junkanoo Boyz are fully focused on delivering a strong performance, no matter the venue.
The Bahamas Football Association encourages all Bahamians to support our team as they compete in the CONCACAF Nations League. Let’s rally behind the Junkanoo Boyz and show our national pride as they represent us on the international stage.

Hon. Mario Bowleg presented Junkanoo Groups with their seed funding for the 2024 Junkanoo Season.
A groups received $30,000
B groups received $15,000
Fun Groups received $2,000
Individuals received $1,500

Leron Rolle International Archery Medalist.
In April 2024 Leron Rolle represented The Bahamas at the South American Archery Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Leron paid the Hon Mario Bowleg, Minister of Youth, Sports & Culture a courtesy call and they discussed the fast-growing popularity of the sport. Leron won the bronze medal at the games becoming the first Bahamian and the first English-speaking person to secure a spot on the podium. Leron hopes to one day represent The Bahamas at the Olympics, hopefully in 2028.

The Bahamas National Aquatics team is set to compete in St. Lucia for the 2024 Goodwill Games. Team Bahamas has 50 members who will compete in various swimming disciplines and age groups. The Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture and the Minister extend best wishes and hope that the team can have an encore performance to the 2023 Goodwill Games and the 2024 CARIFTA Championships.

Devynne Charlton finished 6th in a time of 12:56 in the finals of the Women's 100m Hurdles. The Bahamas is extremely proud of Devynne and The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, The Hon. Mario Bowleg wishes to congratulate Devynne for an outstanding performance.
An historic run for Team Bahamas this morning. Devynne Charlton advanced to the final of the women’s 100m hurdles in a time of 12.50 seconds.
Charisma Taylor ran a personal best of 12.63 seconds, finishing third in heat two. She placed 12th overall.
Charlton is the first Bahamian to advance to the final round at these Paris Olympic Games, and the second Bahamian female to compete in the final round in the event, at the Olympics.
Congratulations Charlton and Taylor for a fantastic performance.

- For the first time ever, three women from The Bahamas lined up for the 100mh at The Olympics.
Indoor World Record holder Devynne Charlton and Charisma Taylor are off to the semifinals, running 12.71s and 12.78s respectively.
The young college standout Deniesha Cartwright, finished fourth in her heat in 12.89s. She will have another shot to advance in the repechage round.
OLYMPIC UPDATE: Ian Kerr placed fifth in heat 5 of the men’s 200m. His time was 20.53. We will have to wait to see if he advances or makes it to the repechage round.🇧🇸🔥💪🏾
