Hi🤍 I’m Taylor,

With the move and many new faces i wanted to take a second to reintroduce myself 😚

I am the founder of Afterglow Skin Clinic, we opened our doors in 2021! I have been home based up until this month, i’ve now expanded my business to a beautiful clinic located in Barrie.

My favourite part of my career is all the connections i get to make daily + seeing transformations happen right before our eyes. An added bonus is being included in so so many of milestones!🫶🏼

Outside of work you can catch me still working BTS (lol), taking much needed mental health days, spending time with my gfs or bf, always listening to taylor swift, and obsessing over my dog bailey 🐶

I’m so excited to open my doors to Barrie and meet + rekindle with so many beautiful faces! There’s a lot i plan to do in this space and i’m so excited to have you be apart of this next chapter with me 🤍

PREGNANCY x SKIN

Lets talk about it👇🏻

Pregnancy is such a beautiful part of life! This really is such a pivotal moment for many many women each day, with pregnancy however, your skin may not be so nice to you, and that’s ok. 🤍

During the first two trimesters you produce more reproductive hormones called androgens. When these hormones increase, so does the amount of oil your skin produces, more oil means clogged pores, clogged pores means more acne.

Extra blood flow allows for the more flushed look to the skin, capillaries can be more visible and rosacea can be more dominant while pregnant.

By third trimester your hormones are at their peak, meaning you may see most or all your flare up’s here with acne.

So… what can we do?

While pregnant there are a few key ingredients in products to avoid in your skincare routine.

Salicylic Acid
Benzov Peroxide
Retinol
Arnica Montana Extract
CBD
TCA

Although the ingredients above help a ton with acne, sulfur is SAFE and will be your BFF during your pregnancy 🤍 my favourite safe serum is also FULVIC ELIXIR by GLYMED

Typically we may have to switch out a few products for your duration to keep you and baby safe, and that’s totally ok! There are a lot of practices we can put in place to help manage the flare ups and skin changes while also understanding how much change your body is undergoing and honour this beautiful time in your life.

The photo I’m showing you is my client during her pregnancy and the bottom is after her pregnancy. I wanted to highlight on how beautiful her skin is in both photos, there are just a few areas that were causing some insecurities (and we are all human and that is OK) my client was using drugstore products and has now graduated into medical grade! We can safely build her regime to what she can comfortably do in the little time she has as a new mom in the AM + PM.

i specialize in prevention and corrective skincare, meaning i prevent any future damage that can appear while guiding you in how to obtain your current skin to “age graciously” because we shouldn’t be afraid to age, but we can feel confident doing so.
correction means correcting perhaps signs of aging, sun damage, scarring, unwanted pigment etc!
my style of work is more med spa than super relaxing facials, but my beautiful clients still find a way to get a quick nap in 🥰🤍
