It’s a historical day for Youth Haven!

Today, we begin the demolition of our old shelter to make way for a brighter future. This day was filled with emotion as staff, supporters, and community members gathered to honour the past and look forward to a new chapter in our book.

A huge thank you to the Simcoe County Home Builders' Association for the hundreds of hours they’ve already donated to get this project started. If you would like to support them and donate you can do so at https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E346766QE&id=26

Thank you, Randy Osborne and his Jam Club team for choosing to be the difference for our youth.

Jam Club will raise funds for our youth Halloween night on Thursday, October 31st. A hat will be passed around through out the evening for all to have an opportunity to donate.

Come out in your best costumes, listen to live music, perform yourself, and raise funds for our youth. Win, win, win.

We look forward to seeing you there.

October 25 2009 we moved into 22 Wellington St E.

15 years and 5 days later we'll be tearing this house down on October 30 to start our next chapter. 🥳

Thanks for all the memories and laughs these last 15 years ❤️

Our History / About Us

Youth Haven began in 1987, when a group of concerned citizens realized there was nowhere in Barrie for a youth experiencing homelessness to go for shelter. They began taking kids into their homes, and quickly realized that the need required a better response.

In 1990, we were incorporated and received our charitable status, and opened our first location on Dunlop Street W. The first facility housed 6 youth, with almost all the food and items coming from donations.

We then moved to a house on Toronto Street, where we continued to grow and serve more youth, and provide more services.

In 2007 we celebrated our past, commemorating our 20 years of service with One Enchanted Evening, our masquerade gala.
