Hot, humid and buggy - but someone needed to do it!
With our mild winter and wet, warm spring the overgrowth on the SCORRA trails has been relentless... so this week was spent using a brush cutter and trimmer clearing Millenium tract of tall grass, vines and clearing sight lines.. Don, Brad, Tyler, Antal and Peter put time in behind the machines to make the trails usable again - enjoy!

Logging in the northwest corner of the Wildman tract has been completed and SCORRA has hired one of our valued contractors to clean up the leftover debris and re-open the trails.. check it out and let us know what you think.

and more updates and trail repairs coming to our southern tracts ( Brentwood, Baxter and Lawden) .. stay tuned.

Remember - if you come across an obstacle / downed tree or overgrowth, send us a message to [email protected] , or on our page so we can address it promptly... a screen shot of the offending location using the Ride OFTR app is a great help!

see you on the trails .

Riding this Saturday? Consider somewhere other than Horseshoe (Barr) and Drury. COATV has their annual ATV charity ride happening on Saturday and will be staging out of Horseshoe. SCORRA trails are still open - but congestion in staging areas may be a factor. Great opportunity to check out some other trails!

Thank you for your patience and for respecting the Spring trail closure. The day we have all been waiting for is now here! Simcoe County trails are now open!

Before you head out to the trails a couple reminders

All riders must:
- Have a valid OFTR membership with you while on the trail.
- Know where you are riding, don’t trespass and stay on designated trails. The RideOFTR app will keep you on the approved trails.
- Respect and expect other trail users.
- Abide by our Code of Conduct. https://scorra.ca/code-of-conduct/

All motorcycles must be:
- Licensed with plates properly mounted to vehicle (Green off-road plate on front, or Blue street plate on rear).
Insured.
- Quiet (94 db or less). Don’t annoy our neighbors, and risk losing access to trails.

Please use extra caution on the trails, since they could be blocked by debris and deadfall accumulated over the winter. Be prepared to stop at a moment's notice and consider packing a small hand saw, and whenever possible, stop to clear any debris as you go. Also remember that you're likely out of practice so leave an extra margin for safety as you ease back into riding.

If you come across any trail issues, please notify us by PM'ing here or email [email protected]

Enjoy the trails, ride cautiously and be safe during the 2024 riding season!

Our Story

The Simcoe County Off Road Riders Association (SCORRA) is a family oriented off road motorcycle riders club formed in December 2006. With an inaugural membership of 25, we have quickly grown to become one of the largest clubs in Ontario with more than 800 adult and child members in 2011.

SCORRA is actively involved in establishing, maintaining, and patrolling trails within Simcoe County. We host a number of events each year including rider training, trail & track rides, motorcycle maintenance, and club meetings.

We are a provincially incorporated not for profit corporation managed by a volunteer board. As a local club of the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders you can join in on the fun by selecting us as your primary club affiliation when joining the OFTR. In doing so a portion of your membership fees are directed to our club. Funds raised through membership dues, event fees, and sponsorships are used for trail building, maintenance, trail signage, insurance, club promotion and events.

Most of our trails are located in the County of Simcoe Forestry properties where riding is governed by the county’s recreation Policy. If you ride an Off Road Motorcycle here you are required to have a valid trail pass and stay on the designated trails. Your bike must be licensed, insured, equipped with a spark arrestor and quiet (94 DB or less).

Your OFTR/SCORRA membership is your trail pass which gets you access to some of the best single and two track trails in the province.

SCORRA encourages everyone riding in our communities to: ride safe, within the law, and respecting other trail users.
