We at Doctor Solar install solar PV and hot-water systems to help the environment and save you money.
This morning's fire on Almon Street caused some eclipse-like effects on the Canada Post Ground Array this morning. A record day now over 800 KwHrs. More importantly, all workers were reported safe and no injuries from this scary fire and explosions. Might take this one up to Class 2 netmetering. Hope everyone had a great solar day in the sun.
In the past week there has been only one announcement to restore confidence in the Nova Scotia solar industry and this was it. We are pleased with Tim Houston the Nova Scotia Governent's response this morning to the irresponsible UARB proposal put forth by NS Power. The CEO of NS Power and their Boston consultant had no consultation with our industry whatsoever. We look forward to a legislated solution to protect the industry in the future and restore confidence for consumers who choose clean energy for the benefit of all Nova Scotians. We have a lot of work to do to meet our climate goals and are eager to get back to work.
Premier vows to protect N.S. solar industry by blocking new net-metering charge | CBC News Nova Scotia will pass laws to prevent Nova Scotia Power from implementing a net-metering charge that some fear would harm the province's solar industry, Premier Tim Houston said Wednesday.

We are excited to attend the Town of Wolfville SWITCH information session this morning about zero interest energy retrofit like solar energy, heating and more.
Great to see Wolfville as one of the leading towns in the valley helping the community reduce its Greenhouse gas emissions and save the home owner lots of money on their electricity bill.

Hi Geoff,
I'm working from home now and my office gives me a great view of the work being done. They are about halfway done my project and one thing I have noticed is that safety is taken very seriously by the team. I never saw them without a harness or doing anything in an unsafe manner. Any company that takes this much effort being safe most likely makes an equal effort to do the job right! I look forward to the finished project.
Best Regards
Rod Gillis
Mr. Gillis Thank you, for your kind words. "Safety is a core value at Doctor Solar"
Doctor Solar completes its 3rd NSCC solar for Communuity Buildings project. This is a ground mounted array at the Center for Geographical Studies in Lawrencetown, NS. So pleased with the local skilled workers that received training and worked so hard to get this job done. Nova Scotia has a great skilled labour force largely due to the incredible programs and training they receive at the many NSCC campuses we are fortunate to have in this great Province. Thanks to NSCC for trusting us to work with them on Ivany Campus in Dartmouth and the Strait Area Campus in Port Hawkesbury.
This is how you build a Fire Station in 2020. Solar module installation complete by Doctor Solar generating 60,000 kwHrs of clean energy. Great working with Linair Electric, Bird Construction and Halifax Regional Municipality on this beatiful project. Congrats Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Station 63 - Harrietsfield-Sambro on your new Station 62!
It has been a busy week at Doctor Solar!!
We just realized that Doctor Solar were working in NB, PEI, Mainland NS and Cape Breton on the same day this week. We love our Atlantic bubble and appreciate everyone's efforts to contain Covid 19 and make our region one of the safest places on Earth. Thank you to all our customers and our dedicated carpenters and electricians building clean energy projects in their own communities.

We have always been a supporter of Canadian Solar that employs Canadians and has some manufacturing in Guelph, ON. In fact, many of our customers receive Canadian made panels in our projects recently. Today this makes us proud of this industry and this company for this kind gesture. Awesome CSI!!

We are sure going to see more yellow (solar) in this chart over the coming years. Looking for the Canadian chart like this but should be very similar. Rejected energy is a huge issue. Power plants miss opportunities to capture heat from generators for communities. Almost 70% of all energy is thrown away. 68 Quads means 12 billion barrels of oil wasted annually in the US alone.
Visualizing U.S. Energy Use in One Giant Chart This interesting diagram breaks down all U.S. energy use by both source and industry, and everything that happens in between.
As the COVID19 situation worsens, we at Doctor Solar have ceased installation operations until further notice. We have always empowered our employees to identify safe work environments and to communicate any concerns in the workplace about safety and it is clear that the current climate is not 100% safe for our employees . Even though outdoor construction may seem low risk, we would prefer to do our part in containing the virus. We care deeply about our people and their health and safety so we hope you understand any delays in our schedule. Solar is an exciting and growing technology that will last 25 to 30 years on your home. We certainly want to get it right and believe this is the right decision at this time. - Dave Angot President and CEO

Good to see where all our recycled plastic is going. Good to know that we are not doing it for nothing :)
Majority of plastic recyclables in Halifax being turned into synthetic lumber | CBC News It's possible the plastic shopping bags you recycled last week could eventually be turned into a bench you'll one day sit on. That's because the majority of plastics recycled in the Halifax area are now going to a local company that turns the waste into lumber.
Happy New Year to all of our friends, families, co-workers and especially our clients! We wish you all the best in 2020! Have a great renewable energy year!
