Safari Week was a blast at BGCB!!

We made zoos for our clay animals to live in, played Safari themed bingo, painted animal themed masks and went on a huge scavenger hunt! On Wednesday our Camp Counsellors faced off in a paper chain competition, our LITs broke out the badminton and campers played uno!

We can't wait to see what week 4 at Camp Kummonanplay has in store!! 🦁🐘🐸

Our friends down the road at Camp Cicadas beat the heat with a fun filled Water Day on Thursday!💧

That's a wrap on week 1 at Camp Kummonanplay!

This week we got to be the first campers to ever go on the inflatables, made s'mores out of solar ovens, and sculpted volcanoes out of clay! We also played baseball, painted birdhouses, and wrapped up the week with our award ceremony where each group nominated a Camper of the Week!

We can't wait to see what next week brings, especially in the first water day of the 2024 season!! 💚💙

Today was BGC Club Day!!! 💚

In Kiddie Korner we celebrated Club Day by colouring pictures for the folks at the Adult Recreation Therapy Center, adding our painted handprints onto a mural, had a BBQ lunch, and played outside with chalk paint! 💙

In the After School Program we enjoyed freezies, added our handprints to the BGCB mural, and made bookmarks & tissue paper flowers! 💚

Tomorrow is the first annual Community Professionals Networking Forum! We are so excited to have professionals and organizations from across Brant County join us tomorrow from 10-2pm! 💚

June is Month! A time to celebrate the wonderful contributions of the 2S & LGBTQIA+ community and amplify their voices.

The City of Brantford is conducting a survey to get feedback from youth, and those who care for/work with youth, to expand opportunities for youth engagement and positive youth development outcomes within Brantford.

Both the survey for adults who are caregivers to and/or work with Brantford Youth as well as the survey for Brantford Youth ages 15-30 can be found here: https://letstalkbrantford.ca/empoweringyouth

Youth who participate in the survey are eligible to be entered into a draw for one of two $50 Sport Chek gift cards. The surveys close at 11:59pm on Monday July 1st.

Last Thursday was our final Youth Council meeting of the 2023-2024 Evening Program.

We celebrated the groups' accomplishments, successful fundraisers, and dedication with a dessert party! Since the group started in January, they ran 4 different fundraisers and helped shape the programs and activities offered in our Evening Program.

We thank all of our members for their dedication to the group. We cannot wait till October when Evening Program opens again so we can get our Youth Council back in action!!

Yesterday was our final night for the Evening Program in the 2023-2024 year.

We can't wait to see you all back for Evening Program in October with more clubs, games and activities for everyone to enjoy!! 🎾
