🔹 Consistency: Build your fitness with regular mileage and training.
🔹 Start Slow: Begin with easy paced runs at 40-50% max effort for 80% of your sessions.
🔹 Run Smart: Aim for 3-5 days of low to medium mileage each week. Include 1-2 speed sessions and a longer run.
🔹 Rest Up: Take a full day off every 7-10 days to avoid burnout and injury.
🔹 Gradual Progress: Increase your mileage by no more than 10% per week.
🔹 Strength and Mobility: Incorporate strength training and mobility work 2-3 days a week.
🔹 Listen to Your Body: Be flexible with your training. If you’re tired or sore, take an extra day off or cross-train with cycling, swimming, or pool running.

Over the past few weeks, our local teams have united with a common goal: to raise awareness and funds for women’s mental health. Our Edmonton, Markham, Moncton, and St. John’s teams came together to run in the events, give away exciting prizes to our communities, and provide massages at our tents to support the participants.
Beyond working the tents and providing massages, many team members went the extra kilometre to help us show up on event days at our best. We are immensely proud of all those involved in making these events successful.

🌟 Meet Marie-Anne Sioris, PT, one of our outstanding Regional Directors, who has been hosting coaching sessions to prepare Resident Physiotherapists (PTs) for the Ontario Clinical Exam (OCE) administered by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario!
Her dedication and expertise have proven invaluable to our resident PTs, boasting a remarkable 100% OCE success rate for those she has coached.
Navigating the new OCE format during the pandemic posed new challenges. Recognizing the need for support in this evolving landscape, Marie-Anne stepped up to the plate, ensuring our residents were equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to excel.
For the last five OCE rounds, Marie-Anne (joined by her colleague and fellow Regional Director, Kim Wright, for the most recent round) has been hosting weekly group and one-on-one coaching sessions to dive deep into the material one needs to learn inside and out, ensuring no stone is left unturned.
For Marie-Anne, the joy of witnessing her residents succeed knows no bounds. From sharing in their uneasiness as they await results to celebrating their victories, she is there every step of the way.
