This innovative tool by the Commonwealth of Learning has been designed to support individuals and institutions in the development of courses. It covers eight categories and supporting quality elements that can be used to benchmark the features of a blended learning course against a set of qualifiers. The Rubric should be used iteratively and throughout the design and subsequent delivery of a blended learning course. Students deserve privacy in these times of remote teaching. Just because students faces are seen, does not mean teachers can tell they are learning!

In collaboration with Athabasca University, COL is offering the MOOC on Blended Learning Practice, which has been designed to assist teachers in adopting blended learning strategies through a step-by-step constructivist and design-based approach. Teachers in diverse contexts – from primary and secondary to post-secondary education, as well as vocational education, and workplace training – will benefit from this course. The fourth edition of the MOOC starts on November 15, 2020.

The seventh edition of the popular MOOC on Introduction to TEL will start on 4 October 2020.
