Intersect Faith Work Society

We strive to build bridges from the Workplace to the Worship Place.

Established in 1984, INTERSECT (formerly the Calgary Chinese Christian Business and Professional Association) is a charitable, non-profit organization that serves local Christian communities who want to live with intention.

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:9‬ ‭

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭

Choices. Whether it’s an important career-changing decision, or choosing the best solution to a difficult problem, we come across choices all the time. How do we ensure that we make the right choice?

Instead of rushing in to make a decision, or rationalizing solely based on human logic, ask God for wisdom.

When we choose to come to God with a willingness to surrender to His sovereignty, He will grant us the wisdom required to make the best decision, the one that aligns with His plans for our lives.

As we near the end of Asian Heritage Month in Canada, we wanted to take some time to reflect on the issue of racism from a cultural and biblical perspective.

We spend most of our adult life working, but what are we working for? God gave us different gifts to fill different roles, but what matters is not our job, our title, our salary, or even our professional achievements; all these things fade away. What truly matters is the motive behind our work, and how we use our role for God.

Today, instead of going through your work day in autopilot, stop and take some time to reflect on why you work.

Where is God in your work?

Gather alongside thousands of men and women across North America to hear from a range of speakers about how our faith connects with our work. It will be a day full of insightful speakers including John Maxwell, Jon Acuff, Stephanie Chung, and more, as well as a chance to dialogue with like-minded individuals about work and faith.

This year, Centre Street Church will be hosting a Calgary session on May 14th. Check out our website for the registration link!

Happy Easter Sunday! Jesus is risen!

Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

As we kick off our Intersect devotions, I want to spend some time reflecting on how God created work and it was good. Often times in the midst of our struggles or burdens from work, we may believe that work is part of the curse. But we clearly see that work is present in Gen 2, and that God himself worked and gave Adam the responsibility of work, and this was all prior to the curse in Gen 3.

How can you view your work as a blessing rather than a curse this week?

03/23/2021

📣 We're excited to officially launch our rebranding! Previously the Calgary Chinese Christian Business and Professional Association, we have changed our name to Intersect Faith Work Society.

03/23/2021

As an organization, we continue to sense a growing desire for individuals to find a deeper understanding of what it means to live out their faith in their workplace, wherever that is. We wonder whether God can truly use us and our work to impact communities and individual lives--perhaps beginning to see our work as a form of worship.

We invite you to join us on this journey to bring God into the intersection of our Faith, Work, and Society.
