1 - 8 Which is your favorite?
Thinking back to this incredible hike in Yoho National Park at the end of July 2021. I set out to hike up the Sherbrooke valley to Niles meadows. It was thrilling knowing I had the entire valley to myself at the start. I didn't see another hiker until nearly half way on my return.
The fires in BC had cloaked all of western Canada in a blanket of smoke. Most of the impressive views to the south were blocked by the smoke. The smoke itself created an eerie almost apocalyptic atmosphere. That coupled with the near complete silence as I passed through several meadows on the way, made for an unforgettable experience.
20km return - 1000m of gain
Also to note, the trail past Sherbrooke Lake is poorly maintained.

Friends of ours took us to this cool spot, the Cafe Phuket Viewpoint. It had a ton of set ups for 'Instaworthy' photo ops, delicious food and great views of the ocean!

Fun fact:
In Thai language, they have different words for each number past a thousand: 1000 paan - 10,000 meun - 100,000 saen and 1,000,000 laan.
But in Lao language, it's common to say the same way as you would in English, saying the word for ten and hundred followed by the word for thousand and million as a seperate word. 1000 paan - 10,000 sip paan - 100,000 lawi paan - 1,000,000 laan.
Pictured is a handful of currency called the Laos Kip in front of a street in the Laos capital, Vientiane.

Focus stacking is when you take a photo with foreground in focus and then take an identical photo with the background in focus and you combine them in Photoshop into one image.

The Icefields Parkway
«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»
One of the most scenic drives in the world. It's difficult to drive, not only because it's narrow, winding and usually extremely busy, but because it's hard to keep your eyes on the road and not on all the scenery you are passing by!

Winter grips before too long
Final signs of fall will pass
Cherish the season while it lasts

Bridge, bridge city, b***h
Tenth, Peace, Centre bridges connect the city, b***h 😂
Nothing like looking through old photos and finding gems you forgot about!

~ Istanbul ~
A city at the crossroads of Asia and Europe for thousands of years. A city known by many names in history. A rich history it has had.
1 - Inside the Hagia Sofia, the dome stands 55m (180ft) from the ground
2 - Looking down a side street in the old city, Fatih
3 - How cool is this reggae inspired lounge? Had to hang a Canadian bill from the ceiling to represent
4 - No doubting why they call it the City of the Cats. May I join you for breakfast?

Regeneration from the desolation.
Forest fires are a natural way for the forest to renew itself. But until the new growth takes hold, the area is a wasteland littered with the corpses of trees who once stood tall.
Three years ago today.
A simpler time back then, for sure.

The mountains are calling and I must go.

I love mornings in the mountains.
A quick overnight at Saskatchewan River Crossing resort was needed to unwind and recharge at the same time.
Calgary is a city of much beauty and I have come to love every part of it.

Well, I guess it's high time that I post something. 🤣 I haven't posted in a while because, Bahrain doesn't support reels, so what was the point? Really. 😆
Currently located in Istanbul, Turkiye. For those unaware, Turkey changed it's name to Turkiye at the beginning of this year to better reflect it's heritage and move away from the name given to it by it's British colonial occupiers.
Have you ever been to Istanbul? Which photo speaks to you?

The Tree of Life is an Acacia tree that grows in the middle of the Arabian desert. It is unsure exactly how the tree gets it's water. It's roots reach 50m into the ground and maybe be deep enough to reach water below the sandy surface. There is another belief that it is able to absorb water from the grains of sand. Myth also states that it stands in what used to be the Garden of Eden and that it's water source is of a mystical nature. Regardless, this tree has existed for over 400 years and still bears leaves to this day.
