I’m back! I’ve been so busy the past few months & I needed a bit of a break from social media. I’ve been keeping myself busy at home on the farm, baking, trying out new recipes, and spending quality time with my family and friends. ☺️

Taking some time off (kind of) was soo nice, but I’m SO excited to get back into the swing of things & get my programs up and running again.☺️

The Secret to Fat Loss 🤫

… there is no secret.🤷🏼‍♀️

Consistently being in a calorie deficit over time & finding a program that you can actually stick to is what’s going to give you the results you’re looking for. Fat loss takes TIME. There is no “magic secret” or “quick fix” to fat loss. It takes time, patience, consistency, and effort over time. 😌

Tips to Stay on Track Over the Holiday Weekend🦃🧡👇🏻

Staying on track over the holiday weekend can be tricky to navigate. Here are a couple tips that I find help me:
- Stay hydrated!
- Don’t starve yourself or cut out all of your carbs during the day just so you can indulge on the meal
- Be mindful of portion sizes
- If you have multiple days of events, try focussing on one “free meal” each day, rather than multiple days of free-for-all eating
- Plan your meals ahead of time (if possible!)
- Have some healthier snacks on hand, especially if you’re travelling
- Lastly, don’t stress! Enjoy your time with your family & enjoy your meal. One meal off plan won’t ruin your progress!

Regardless of your goal, it’s the little lifestyle changes that make a difference. ☺️

Let’s talk about different ways to measure progress 👇🏻

A lot of women get really focussed on the number on the scale & often it can be quite toxic. For some reason there’s a magic number in our heads & we think we’ll finally be happy once we reach that “goal weight”. While weight can be one way to measure progress, it’s important to remember that it’s simply a piece of data that represents MANY different things.

❌Scale weight does NOT = amount of body fat. (Read that again)

Weight can fluctuate due to so many different things (this will be a post for another time), & it’s important to look at a variety of factors when we look at progress. Such as:
- How are your clothes fitting?
- How are your energy levels?
- How is your sleep?
- How are your hunger levels?
- How do your progress pictures look in comparison to the last?
- Are you less bloated?
- How do you feel overall?

It’s so so important to consider all of these things when we measure progress. There is so much more to health and fitness than just the number on the scale. Sometimes the scale hardly moves but we see major progress elsewhere.

Let go of the magic number in your head & start looking at your overall progress - physically and mentally.☺️

Why eating only 1200 calories a day is NOT sustainable for fat loss.❌

- After a long period of time of eating only 1200 calories per day, your body eventually gets used to it which makes it way harder to continue to lose weight.

- Eating only 1200 calories per day often leads to overeating on the weekends, or overeating once the diet is “done”. This also usually results in gaining back the weight that you just lost. This is because your body is begging you for calories - 1200 calories is way too low!

- In order to lose weight, you have to consume less calories than what you burn in a day. The average woman burns 1800-2200 calories per day, & 1200 calories is WAY too low.

You should be focussing on finding a healthy amount of calories for you to lose weight in a HEALTHY way & be able to keep the weight OFF.

A lot of my clients are surprised when they see recipes like this on my programs, & people often say that they are surprised that they still get to eat “normal” food.

This is 100% my goal with all of my programming! It’s not meant to feel like you’re “on a diet.” These are simple, delicious, family-friendly meals & they are inspired by all of my favourite foods! Home workouts on the weekends >>

Somehow life just keeps getting busier 😅 but being able to workout at home is such a game changer. Over the years I’ve gone from spending 2+ hours a day in the gym, to doing a quick 30-45 min workout at home a few days a week. & the best part is - I’m still getting just as good of results (if not better!)

You don’t have to spend crazy hours in the gym multiple days a week to see results. Find a program that fits your lifestyle & that you can actually stick to, & you’d be surprised how quickly the results will come. ☺️👏🏻
