We are ready for a New Year!
2021 was a year of challenges and growth in ways we didn’t anticipate. Some seeds grew and some didn’t and a lot of salt was needed. Our team was incredible: supportive, encouraging and resilient. Our customers showed grace and kindness in their words and actions everyday.

We don’t know what 2022 will hold but we are ready for new possibilities and adventures and to focus on what we do best… serving our community with kindness, supporting local and providing you fresh, real food.

September 30th is a day to remember those who attended and survived residential schools and remember those who did not. We will reduce our hours and be open 10-4 🧡.

It is more than a it is a day to remember every child matters and to do your part to learn and understand.

Seed N Salt began 5.5 years ago with a foundation built upon Community + Kindness. It is on our walls, on our shirts and is the secret ingredient in every recipe we make. Our core values are to: 1. Provide our community the opportunity to eat real food 2. To leave people better then we found them and 3. To live with purpose. The decision for businesses to choose their next direction is so difficult as we value inclusion and all people and desire to support our entire community with what we do.

We want to continue to provide access to healthy, nutritious meals made with integrity, transparency and intention for all so will be moving temporarily to the TAKE OUT model and patio dining. We are grateful our customers can safely enter the store to place orders, to pick up their food and drinks, to dine on the patio or to have delivery through our delivery partner .

We are grateful our staff can continue to focus on what they do best as the creators of beautiful and delicious food. They are amazing.

We are grateful for each of you and the support you have shown us over the months and years and we hope we can continue to be a light and a safe place for community + kindness for years to come.

Without our team we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Our team builds lifelong friendships with each other and within our community. We are saddened to see a few people change careers, move away or return to school however we support their hopes and dreams and encourage them on their next chapters.

Thank you to those who supported us during our time of operation in Banff. Cheers to the locals who became our friends and the incredible staff we had the privilege of working with.

Unfortunately our Banff location is permanently closed due to no federal government support for new businesses and the lack of tourism in an economy that relies on visitors for its survival.

We committed to the Banff project in 2019 and despite taking possession before Covid hit we were not eligible for any federal supports as the federal government claims new businesses cannot prove a loss.
Obviously in some cases we were not “all in this together”.

Unfortunately despite the seeds that were planted and the salt it has taken some things are out of our control so we accept and look forward to our path forward.

Covid has been difficult on all but we are thankful for the positives we found along the way and for the opportunity to do what we do in Calgary.
