Here is a home design, a bit different from my typical homes designs, that I created here in Calgary several years ago...a Mexican adobe house...right from the SW USA....New Mexico.

The Iconic 130 year old Tudor Algonquin Hotel is looking forward to the future with new staff quarters, replacing the original 135 +/- staff quarters. (photo attached). The proposed building is a far cry from the hotels architectural historical grandeur. St Andrews by the Sea is an historical sea side resort, renowned for it's original Loyalist / British architecture starting from 1783. To start to introduce more modern architecture into the towns historic ambiance is a wrong move. Stating this...yes, understand that perhaps the original staff building has "sadly" perhaps passed it's prime. ALTHOUGH...to gut the original building and reinvent the original structure would DEFINATELY be my first goal. It is just to easy to state how 'rotten' the building has become, and bulldoze. (Look as what Saint John has already lost...NEVER to be seen again).

Regardless....IF this is in fact what the town and new owners of the hotel want (to erase more of our towns history)...then the proposed building's architecture NEEDS to be redone...to match the rich architectural history of the town.

I have attached my own architectural rendition of what could look good, based on their proposal, keeping much more with the hotel's architectural style for this new building.

I STRONGLY URGE Town Council to send the architects back to the drawing board, and not to applaud the first drawings that are presented. STAND UP FOR THE TOWN'S RICH HISTORY BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

A newly designed layered modern home, on a ridge overlooking downtown Calgary and the mountains. So, all windows, decks have an unobstructed million dollar view.

The new office I designed next door to my office, had their official open house yesterday. It was quite the transformation. A great transition from the modern commercial on the corner to my 1912 traditional. Some photos of the houses 32 years ago, and what it looked like before we started the reno two years ago...and then today.

Here’s a house in Medford Massachusetts that I had the honour of designing an addition to one end. My goal, to design it to make it look like it was original.

Here are some updated photos of another fabulous home here in Calgary...overlooking the city with great mountain views too. Thus the large windows to the front, but still keeping the Chateau feel that the owner was seeking. Yet to do...railings on both levels, and the new large statement front door.

I had the honor of designing a wonderful addition to this fabulous home in the Historic town of St Andrews by the Sea in New Brunswick. The home was so much fun to design with the incredible owners. Transforming what originally was built as a barn, transformed into a colonial home years ago...under going a second renovation over the years...to end up with this final rendition of an Entertainers Paradise. The owners have transformed this residence into an ever so inviting space...whether it be for private relaxing...or huge entertaining.

One of my side by side duplex dwellings nearing completion....located here in Calgary, on the next block away from my office in MISSION. Hard to believe on this tiny lot, I was able to get two LARGE homes...with a 3 car garage for each...with a parking spot on the driveway too. SO...8 car parking on this tiny lot, PLUS two HUGE homes with a roof top patio over looking the downtown city skyline.

This is a stunning home I designed several years ago. It is located at the bottom of a hillside just behind me here in Calgary. It is a two story, with a walkout to the front (drive under garage ). A spectacular home!!!. Hard to believe that this is in the centre of the city!

This beautiful home is one of my first houses to design just outside St Andrews, along the St Croix River, that is also the international border between Canada and the US. It overlooks the American shore, and also has fabulous views of St Croix Island (I grew up knowing this as Dochet Island), where Champlain landed and spent the winter in 1604-5. The house was built on the the foundation remnants of the old barn of this old forgotten farm, full of century old apple trees etc. An absolutely breathtaking location.
