Constriction

My parents smoked when I was growing up. A lot. It started when I was in the womb, and continued on their lap, at the dinner table, and in the car.

40% of people in North America smoked in the 70s and so many kids had this same experience.

This was the beginning of our constricted life - our literal airways compressed. Then add societal pressure, suppressed emotions, parents who keep a tight control over our future, and so on and so on. Before we know it, we are unexpressed, fearful & unconsciously perpetuating this cycle of suffering.

As a parent, a daughter & a sister, I can't tell you how many times this has been me (as the victim & the perpetrator).

Constriction addition. This is our individual & collective wound. It keeps us from expanding into our greatness, building bridges & letting love in.

Spring is arriving. The place of the the dragon & the eagle. The beginning of the astrological calendar, and the rise of nature's potentiality 🌱🪷

March is a birth month.

It signals the rebirthing process for many of us.

We gently come out of hibernation, each day births us 3 more minutes of light & it's the spring equinox.

The fiery energy of Aries begins making its way into our hearts.

For me, my literal birthday is also celebrated this month, as a Pisces, living feverishly on the cusp ❤️‍🔥

And this year, there is something else.

February 27th.

This is both today, and was my final day in a corporate role back in 2020. It's been exactly four years.

I have faced the four directions and journeyed the four seasons thousands of times since then, and have had oh so many deaths and rebirths.

Many of you witnessed the writing that came through for my Dad earlier this month. This is just one massive, but also tiny speck in my journey.

I have received so many messages over these past couple of weeks & my heart has been penetrated over and over.

"You remind me that life is for living, not just for surviving" ❤️

To hear these words brought tears, and it also made me pause. To know and feel the truth in this, and to also know that beyond the boundaries of living is the essential nature of loving.

As I approach my birth month, I feel the beginnings of yet another ending. Another death bringing forward the fertile soil of new life. The moult after the last one, and the one before the next.

I am a writer. A dragonfly. A healer. A lover.

I know the dark, and I have this way. This way of letting the light find me. Or maybe I find it. And always in exactly the right time, and exactly the right place.

Belonging is state of being. A birthright. Its elusiveness is actually an illusion, and I am creating this space as the exact right conditions for its unveiling. It's time to see it burst from the shadows!

The Alchemy of Belonging is a 4 week coven. It's an immersion into the depths of belonging. Belonging isn't something to find, it's something to remember.

Good evening Dear Ones! 💓

I wrote this from a hotel room in Medicine Hat yesterday morning ... on a little pilgrimage of sorts to collect waters from the South Saskatchewan river, have a massive burning ceremony & visit my Dad.

"In this moment, I'm sitting here quietly reflecting on wants. And also, on endings and beginnings, which are miraculously happening simultaneously in every single moment.

Our wants come from source. This is part of why I'm collecting the water today. Our waters hold answers. ESPECIALLY for women. When we tap into source, we are able to see things that aren't otherwise able to be seen.

This is what Saturday morning's session is becoming. Turning the taps on to our source, and unveiling the revelation of our wants."

Ps, this is a photo of the actual waters of the South Saskatchewan river when I was on a healing journey in 2020.

Volution is 'a turn or twist about a centre'.

And so, to me, a re-volution is a powerfully sacred dance. A movement. A return. A call to the restoration of Divine balance and towards the reclamation of our innermost desires.

We all long to receive. To love. To gather. To create. To breathe fully. To be with. To belong.

A revolution is something we have the capacity to choose.

And when it's calling, you can't ignore it.

January is still an earthy, inward type of month and I'm smoldering with the desire to create only from that energy.

I'll be holding this space in my page. Posting, loving, connecting, igniting.

I'll also be offering a space that hosts weekly, 60 minute gatherings on Saturday mornings at 8am MST. We will explore wanting, desire, belonging, receiving, our ancestors, love, creation & the spiritual realm. These will always be recorded for those that can't be there live but want to be part of the experience.

Yesterday I went skiing for the first time in well over 20 years (with the exception of a botched attempt at becoming a snowboarder in my 20s).

I circled up and around the bunny hill for hours ... noticing myself expand and contract over turns, twists and falls. I drifted from ploughed skis to parallel skis, & hundreds of other little micro-movements in between.

Skiing has this sneaky little way of showing you both control and surrender.

A sort of reclamation happened yesterday. A returning. A remembering. And all in this sweet little space of choosing something because I refused to let the not-self parts of me that quit after my very first big run on a snowboard 20 years ago outsmart the essence of what my soul is begging for.

I want to lose control. I want to love & live boundlessly. I want wildly impossible things to become possible. I want to claim and to own everything that is meaningful to me. I want to unapologetically belong.

In 2024, I will lead the way for women whose fire is growing wild and whose waters are crashing up against her shore. Women drenched in their relentlessness & unstoppable appetites. Those ready to (re)claim the sweetness of their wanting and their Divine connection with love.

January will be about quietly (and not so quietly) allowing what is begging to be seen. About wanting. About love. About belonging. And about creating from everything we already have.

When you own and claim doing nothing, something always happens (whether it is literal being alone & doing nothing or choosing nothing over doing the perpetually insane thing you’ve been doing over and over).

The something is received in the form of wisdom, new information, answers, emotions, insights, epiphanies. We learn something we didn’t know.

Nothing isn’t passive.

Also ...

The choice is yours to claim & own every single moment.The nothing moment. The vulnerable moment. The joyful moment. The angry moment. The peaceful moment. The loving moment.

And when you do this, you must go ALL IN in order to realize the fullness of what’s available there. You must become present to it. Notice. Pay attention. Go into it fully without abandon.

Ps. If you avoid, distract or numb, you are not going all in.
