LABOUR DAY MONDAY - OPEN till 8:30 PM!

It is the day set aside for labourers, and workers, and unions, and all folks who toil daily to earn a living.

The origins of the day dates back to the Victorian era of industrialization. Workers united in solidarity, celebrated a day together, whereby they rallied, held parades, held friendly competitions and games, and enjoyed picnics together.

Since World War II the day has become more of a day for workers and their families to enjoy leisure activities, and get togethers one last time before summer fades into fall.

And so we are here. Labour Day 2024. In the Tourism Industry, it simply means another day of labouring. In fact with all of the southbound traffic today, we expect to be darn right busy. In Canada, Labour Day is a statutory holiday, so many businesses, banks, schools and gov’t offices will be closed. But here at JPs, we will be open, until 8:30 pm tonight.

Have a safe and Happy Labour Day folks. Get yourselves safely tucked back into your homes. Get the laundry caught up. Get lunches made for tomorrow’s school day, and let’s just get on with fall.

Here comes College and NFL football, and hockey is not far behind. Yahoo!
