Dear ISB families,

Our 2023/24 season concluded on Thursday, June 27. We are proud to be celebrating over 36 years with the International School of Ballet and we will continue to bring the joy and beauty of classical ballet to our community.

Registration for the new season is ongoing. Enrollment is limited and we urge everyone to register early and secure placement.

We are delighted to welcome our new students next season and we're looking forward to more dancers joining our family!

Our 2024/25 season commences on Tuesday, September 3rd.

"The Package" is an ISB tradition for the Vocational students. Prior to their exam, our students and staff neatly assemble the supplies necessary for their exam and wrap it up in their RAD towels, courtesy of Mrs. Sumen.

Each year, our most advanced students perform a sophisticated score based on the traditional elements of classical ballet centre work. Choreographed by our founder and Artistic Director Mrs. Umran Sumen, the work of Étude highlights the precision, elegance, and grace of classical ballet.

In the finale of our year end show "Étude" our youngest dancers share the stage with our most experienced dancers. Étude demonstrates the natural progression from our Early Childhood Ballet program to our Vocational Ballet program culminating with the unity of the whole school with the finale of our first act.

University Theatre May 5, 2024

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who made this show such a success! The very talented group of dancers shone on stage. All together we created another special and magical performance.

We did it together! From Pre-Ballet to Advanced Two and professional levels, the talented staff and volunteers, everyone gave their best effort and the result was exemplary. I received wonderful comments from the audience and many familiar with our productions, told me that " always, this magic happens". This a testament to our dedication, hard work and love of classical ballet which cannot be denied.

I know that everyone feels very proud to be a part of this young and exceptional ensemble. It is unique.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. I give my révérence to all.

Les Sylphides is a non-narrative, one-act ballet that enchants audiences with its ethereal beauty and enchanting simplicity. The stage is transformed into a moonlit dreamscape where white-clad sylphs gracefully dance alongside the enigmatic "Poet." As the nocturnal scene unfolds, the Poet becomes the focal point amidst a flock of otherworldly beings with delicate butterfly wings.

Inspired by the mystical ambiance of other ballet blancs such as "Giselle" and "La Sylphide," the ballet unfolds in a series of mesmerizing vignettes set to Chopin's haunting compositions. From a tender Nocturne to a spirited mazurka, the Poet guides us through a twilit journey, culminating in a grand adagio and the exuberant finale, where all sylphs converge in the enchanting strains of the Grande Valse.
