Happy Long weekend! We’re off enjoying time with some of our fav island locals! Enjoyed wandering the awesome and gaining inspo for favours. Apparently the “unicorn” treat was a favourite :) if you’re in the area on a Saturday, it’s a great spot. We grabbed locally roasted coffee, veggies from a farmer and more!

Ps - has delicious GF / plantbased goodies too! Will post pics of her yummy treats we got later.

HEARTWARMING STORY 🩷
🩷 The other day, one of our bakers was finishing her shift and hopping to a meeting with someone. She took 2 freshly baked cookies and was excited to share them with her friend. She was in the parking lot and headed to see her friend and saw into an elderly woman. She was friendly with the elder lady.. and the lady told her she was experiencing low blood sugar level.. and our baker offered the lady her cookies. I know what you’re thinking.. “awe, shucks, that’s soo KIND”.. or like “ya I could say the same thing to get fresh cookies 🤣🤣” ok ok.. seriously tho.. the cookies became a seed of KINDNESS - and that’s a win for sure!

Kindness doesn’t need to be fancy. We just need to be awake to see needs and then be willing to participate in adding KINDNESS. 🩷

Starting the Christmas festivities this weekend! 🎄This is a pic of a dairy free sweet rice pudding that is part of my traditions (Esther here). I put almond flavouring into the coconut whip.. and I think it tasted just like grandma used to make. Some local strawberries on top too. Delicious.

🇩🇰 Our Danish tradition is to hide a blanched almond in the bowl of rice pudding.. then everyone has to eat the big bowl of pudding.. and then people start fessing up that they found an almond in their portion of dessert. The ones who discover an almond, get a gift! In Denmark, they get a little marzipan pig.. here in Canada, grandpa brings the “mantle gav” gift.. and he’s usually bringing chocolate for a gift. 🎁 and for the record, no, no I haven’t won an almond in years. It’s a big deal. But at least the dessert I made tasted delicious. ❤️
