Our physiotherapist, Shawn, completed McMaster’s Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program😃

Neurofunctional acupuncture involves the insertion of single-use sterile needles into the peripheral system and can target nerves, joints, ligaments, muscle and bone tissue for therapeutic purposes.

Electro Acupuncture involves passing a pulsed current through the body tissue via acupuncture needles for either therapy or analgesia. Using electricity in acupuncture can make the results more effective and long-lasting.

Acupuncture can result in local and systemic effects such as:

Endorphin release resulting in pain reduction
Increase in local blood flow and the promotion of tissue healing
Improved muscular strength and improved range of motion
Reduced muscle tension

Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions including but not limited to:
