We are feeling froggy in the Vick- Dumouchel household today.

Look at this adorable little felted string of pearls I have made just in time for this Saturday from 11-4pm. Stop by and say hi to .vick who will be selling both of our art. This little plant baby will be right at home amongst all of the other amazing plant based vendors 😊

Painting mushrooms with melted mushrooms, absolutely I will do that ☺️ these cute little paintings are done using ink that I created by allowing Coprinus comarus otherwise known as Shaggy mane or Inky cap mushrooms to melt and then filtering and preserving the ink. Inky cap mushrooms undergo a process called deliquescence, they produce a special enzyme which digests their own flesh and produces a black liquid.

I am really excited to share with everyone a project that is special for me. Over the last few years I have been really connecting with Norse history and tradition and recently I wanted to incorporate that into my art in such a way that felt true to my values. For me that has meant designing pieces that represent the runes of the Elder Futhark. Pictured are my first 4 completed runes with the remaining 20 to come. This project represents several challenges for me, the first being learning all of the runes and their stories and meanings and the second being representing these runes in a unique and truthful manner. Along the way I have also discovered a third and somewhat unexpected and unsettling challenge, multiple of these runes have been taken and their meanings twisted by hate groups through the years. Because of this I need to be careful to ensure that my images do not accidentally represent these incorrect usages of these runes.

All of these challenges aside I have really enjoyed this project so far and look forward to where it will take me. The plan is for these prints to eventually become a rune deck down the road as well as the individual full size prints being available for sale. For me although I have plans to sell them this project has been for me and it has felt good creating freely with mo timeline or pressure to produce.

I just had to do a spooky season print!!! I really challenged myself with this bat print and am really excited to share this adorable sky puppy with you all. The mushroom print was a previous challenge I did but the first time I printed it on paper.

Come find Will and I This weekend and bring the family or just treat yourself to a day at festival with live music, art, performances, food and a vendors market and bid farewell to summer with one last hurrah. Then you will be able to find .vick and I next weekend at next weekend at Mill woods town center with many other amazingly talented neurodivergent artists for a sensory friendly shopping experience like no other.

With summer winding down and a chill in the air it's time to start switching out shorts for pants and reaching for jackets. I find I still have these super fun worm pants and various other clothing in my possession. The sizes on these clothing are mostly small but if you are interested in any of these please let me know.
