Hiii!!! I’m Kaya, pronounced like Princess Leia, but Princess Kaya! I’m 26 years old, born & raised in Edmonton but spent the last 4 years living in the heart of Montreal. While I was there I discovered my passion for all things hair & pursued education to aquire my lisence shortly after.

Prior to becoming a hairstylist, I worked in hospitality which solidified customer service as a top priority of mine. I’ve always been told I have an infectious sense of confidence, so shifting to a career in the beauty industry just made sense. My favourite part of doing hair is making other people feel seen, heard, and like a fresh & invigorated version of themselves.

My keen eye for detail & unique take on current trends allow for a fresh perspective in all things hair, style, and aesthetic. Fashion has always been a huge part of my life and on my days off you will probably find me sifting through racks of clothes at the thrift store or modelling for local clothing brands. Social media is a big part of my life and I’m so happy to have found a home base where I’ll be taking over socials & marketing to showcase the best of the best from the Daughters team.

Some other tidbits about myself include:
- I’m a single mom (my son is 4 1/2)
- The gym is my therapy, I love lifting heavy and feeling like a strong bad b*tch
-I love all things reality tv (I’m the biggest drag race stan)
-I’m of Italian & Norwegian descent (no I can’t speak either language)

All in all, I’m so excited to make my mark here at Daughters & to build lasting relationships with every client who sits in my chair. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of such an amazing and supportive team & can’t wait to meet you all!

Hey 👋🏻 I’m Amanda. Im 29 years old, a mom to 2 little goobers who are my world, I am married to a unicorn and we have a chatty husky mixed breed named Nikita! I decided to pursue my passion for hair when I was 26 one year after I moved to Alberta and man am I so glad I did! I love how hair has become a creative outlet for me, but mostly it’s the happiness it brings to my clients that fills a happy space within me! Overall I’ve been in this industry for about 3 lovely years!

I absolutely LOVE colour. It’s like painting on a canvas and fun fact about me is I’ve always been into painting and drawing ever since I was a little girl. So I’m a fan of just about anything and I love a good challenge! Bring on those vivids! I’m a big fan of layered cuts that give body and movement throughout the hair🤗 hair just fills my cup in all the right ways!

A few random facts to get to know me:

My favourite colour is emerald green, I’m born and raised in Ontario and spent most of my time in a town called newmarket where I’ve had the same best friends since I was like 8. I love punk rock music and country depends on the mood and the day 😂 when I get time I enjoy reading books, watching trash reality tv or crime docs. I enjoy being outside with my family and making the best memories with my little humans so when they grow up they reminisce on how much fun we always had together. 🤍

I’m so thrilled to work alongside these talented stylists at Daughters Salon, and to get to know my future clients and hang out with my past clients again. Let’s do some magic 🪄 ✨
