Matt’s hard at work on this L83 5.3L engine, fitting an L86 crank, forged H Beam connecting rods and Icon forged pistons. Getting ready to unleash some ponies!

A sad sight in teardown today 😢 an LML core came in and upon removing the heads it's evident that the previous shop cookied the block surface before putting on new head gaskets with freshly resurfaced cylinder heads. This lead to the gasket failing to seal against the deck, and the cooling system still pressurizing, then they obviously just replaced the engine with a new unit. Sounds like an expensive lesson to learn and hopefully someone learned from it!

Been a busy day running all these Duramax cylinder heads through the reman process! Keep 'em coming!

This head had worn & pitted stock valve seats that were sure to cause a poor seal and are known to fall out of their pockets and cause catastrophic engine failure. As part of our reman process we install larger upgraded seats.
