Swipe for the before pic👉 it’s of a cover up I did over a decade ago. She wanted to have it be less “tramp stampy” (her words not mine and I have permission to use them☺️) and to give it an overall update.
It’s always fun to see tattoos that I did years ago, it’s nice to see how they’ve held up over time and to think of what I would do now in terms of design. Occasionally I get the opportunity to work on them again and it’s one of the best things! This job is as much about building relationships with my clients as it is about doing good work. To be able to reconnect with someone I tattooed so many years ago and to breathe some new life into their tattoo is pretty special! Thank you, Megan!

This tattoo is coming along so nicely, we’ve got one more short session left to go. Working around some scarring and existing tattoos not done by me (the one in the centre of her back and another on her right arm that isn’t pictured) I wanted to give her a tattoo that wouldn’t necessarily cover up her scars but rather distract from them. These big bold flowers give a large amount of coverage that lives so nicely on her body. ✨

My sweet Tullie,
Today would have been our 13 year adoptaversary but a few weeks ago you let me know that you had other plans. Although I knew it wouldn’t last forever, I truly believed we had one more summer of camping and deck days; I thought for sure I’d be throwing you a 14th birthday party in the fall.

You were with me all day every day; after 13 years of being my best friend, life feels so very wrong without you by my side.

I miss everything about you; seeing your magnificent ear hair blowing in the wind, feeling your tummy full of food, how you would sleep all day under the deck and come up with god knows what stuck to you, how when we went camping you would sleep as far down the hill as you could even though you had comfy beds out all over the campsite, and even taking your enormous buggy along on our walks this past year IF you needed a rest.

Thank you for all the lessons you taught me; for showing me how dog people find each other and often become the dearest of friends.

Thank you for finally becoming a loose leash walker once you reached the age of 12, and just over these past few months for finally realizing hugs and cuddles weren’t that horrible; it means the world.

Words aren’t enough for how much I love you, tears aren’t enough for how much I miss you. I can’t wait to be with you again. Meanwhile I know you’re out there having the best time sleeping in dirt, rolling in snow, licking all the windows and mirrors, eating the stinkiest fish and tripe, and drinking all the puddle water but please come back and visit me in my dreams from time to time. ❤️

This lovely lady was constantly having issues with her piercings being inflamed and agitated even though she’s had the piercings for years and was wearing what was believed to be high quality jewelry. Sometimes even good quality jewelry can have small amounts of nickel and other alloys that can cause aggravation.

By switching to implant grade titanium she can now leave these babies in for all time and they will NOT aggravate her ears!

The fact that they are nicely fit posts (still with enough room to clean though!) with larger flat backs means they will not sag forward with the weight of the heavier gems, nor will they poke into the side of her head while sleeping or get caught on hair and clothing!

The ends are universal so if she wants to change her earrings to a different style or colour; all we have to do is switch them! She doesn’t have to buy the posts again! How convenient is that!

These healed sunflowers are a great start to an overall larger piece we’ll continue working on down the road. She wanted to keep the script we did 7ish years ago and ditch the squiggly lines so we made a nice little string of pearls instead. 💡 This will all tie into another sunflower and succulent tattoo on her upper arm that we did about 5 years ago. Custom made rose gold and diamond nostril jewelry as well as a rose gold Skye clicker for her septum. She had originally ordered it with an onyx gem and later decided to replace it with an opal and we say YES to that! 🙌

Took a little break from social media but we’re back!
Labyrinth was one of my favourite movies when I was a kid so this was especially fun to tattoo!

A nice start to this project. It’s designed to flow and live on her body around some scarring and existing tattoos. The point wasn’t to literally cover up the scars but to give her something that she’s proud to show. I can’t wait to work with this wonderful woman some more and see the transformation as we progress! Thank you, D!

GONE CAMPING!!
It’s the last camping trip of the season and although the nights are chilly, the days are beautiful and nothing beats being in the wilderness listening to the coyotes and wolves (in the far distance) and the elk calls throughout the night. It’s exciting!

Next season I’m going to install a low window in the tent door for her to watch out of.💡💡💡

Long walks aren’t an option these days but her buggy is a game changer for when she gets tired.

It’s “Take Your Dog to Work Day”. Although that’s EVERY day for us, I thought it was a good excuse to share some photos of Tullie (pronounced “Too-Lee”). Tules is a good ol’ rescue mutt who’s been my trusty sidekick and official greeter here at the shop since she was 6 months old.
These days she spends her time alternating between napping and lounging in her comfy beds in the office or art room. She’ll be 13 (THIRTEEN!😱) soon and she’s the love of my life. I could go on forever but I’ll just let you enjoy some silliness of a workday in the life of Tullie.
