Our Story

The society was conceived under the leadership and guidance of the late Swami Bhashyananda of the Vivekananda Vedanta Society in Chicago, USA. The Society maintains a philosophical link with the Ramakrishna Mission in Belur Math, India and the Toronto Vedanta Society, Canada.

Activities of the society include weekly meetups, study circles, retreats with visiting monks, international development and relief efforts, community sponsorship and services, and fundraising.

The Hindu Cultural Centre on St. Albert Trail is open to the public. The Swami Vivekananda Hall has a gallery of Swami Vivekananda. In this hall on Sundays from 10:30-Noon, you are welcome to join our VSE meetups for meditation, prayers, lectures, and Vedanta topic discussions.
