The Education Advocacy Program is a non-profit company seeking to advocate post-secondary education to high school students and empowering them to choose an education best suited for them. In doing this, we send volunteers to give presentations at schools across Alberta. We are currently looking for an individual to fill the executive role Director of Presentations. The successful candidate would be in charge of managing volunteer presenters as well as creating/organizing new presentations. Hey guys, I am currently in the first year of the Respiratory Therapy Program at NAIT. Having previously completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta, I aim to approach post-secondary education with a broader perspective. Through the Education Advocacy Program, we aspire to ensure individuals are provided with the information to make an informed decision about their education and future. Are you interested in volunteering with the Education Advocacy Program?
We are a non-profit organization that focuses on providing information and resources to students preparing for life after secondary education. Our hope is that by explaining the merits of higher education, whether it be in University, College or Polytechnics (Trades), we can ensure that students make the most informed decision possible for themselves.
We are currently looking for volunteers to come explain these merits, dispel myths, provide factual information, and provide examples from their own personal life!
Qualifications?
Employment in a trade, field of work, or enrollment/completion of a post-secondary school.
Reliable means of transportation.
Training?
You will be provided with presentation package and orientation by the executive team. Then, you will pair up with one of the executives during a presentation and learn how to do it on your own.
Commitment?
A minimum of 4 hours per semester.
Benefits?
You will receive a reference from the executive team and develop public speaking skills.
