WHAT REJUVINATES YOU?
We all need to engage in activities that help us relax and restore ourselves. Resources are those things that help us to feel calm, safe, integrated and rejuvenated. Nature is a place that helps most people feel good, and is a natural antdepressant. Some other examples are play, yoga, pets, friends, tea, coffee, shows, movies, naps, music, writing, painting, exercise, organizing, meditation and sunshine. Everyone will have a unique list as we are unique in what restores us. Apparently, some people find baking relaxing, but for me, it is a direct line to frustration and irritability. What is on your resource list?
Beautiful passage about GRIEF
“And then, when the door shut, when everyone had left, when Cecilia was nowhere to be seen, I looked over at Robert. I fell to the floor. The tiles felt cold on my flushed skin. The hardiness of the stone ached in my bones. Underneath me, puddles of tears were forming, and yet I could not lift my head off the ground. Robert did not help me up. He got down on the floor next to me. And wept” passage by Taylor Jenkins Reid in her novel The Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo
The journal of Epidemiology and Community Health found that just 6-8 minutes of moderate exercise increases cognitive function and memory. So walk quickly to the scenic view and enjoy.
