This week we said goodbye to the team that came with Mercy Air! They stuck it out through the heat, hard work and some hiccups getting all the material on site. But they finished strong and are now safely home. Thanks to all who were praying.

Your generous Steps to Stop Hunger donations in action...
As we await the outcome of the strikes slated for today and tomorrow due to the election being contested here in Mozambique, we once again request prayer for peace as well as for wisdom as to whether we can proceed with our intensive training scheduled for next week. Around 90 leaders are scheduled to travel in from 4 provinces of the country.
While we continue to provide training for these key leaders, thank you to all who have given toward a scholarship or more. Below is our tracker you can find on the website www.sbfscholarship.org where you can find out more about the program and the needs represented.
The team organized and flown up by Mercy Air have already got stuck into the work alongside our team! So grateful!
Please continue to pray for peace in Mozambique. There are still significant tensions after the last one day strike with two more announced for later this week.
We wanted to update our donors that although our direct deposit Interac platform to [email protected] was compromised on Saturday due to hackers, it was only for a brief period and no funds were redirected to our knowledge. We have now paid for improved security on our website platform and trust that will resolve any future threats. Thank you for your generosity and trust!
The team from South Africa with Mercy Air arrived safely to help with a variety of projects in the week ahead. Pray for a safe, productive and blessed time and please continue to pray for peace in Mozambique. Two opposition members were murdered in the capital city on Friday after a contested election result heighten an already tense environment.
🍂 Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! 🍂
Janette, Patti and Jacqueline were at Heartland Alliance church this weekend promoting our Steps to Stop Hunger fundraiser. Thankful for the generous response of many and good conversations with people.
This past Monday, Netsai (pictured left of Shannon), one of our Sponsored kids who got all the way through Teachers training came by with the good news that she got permanent work in the same school as her husband. She was so grateful she brought cold drinks for the staff and came with her mom to say thanks.
The thanks goes to all who sponsor kids giving them a chance to know Christ and a lift out of poverty. If you are interested to sponsor a child with us, there are many patiently waiting.
Progress update on our 2024 Steps to Stop Hunger fundraiser
Can you imagine serving 5700 meals a week?! That is what our feeding program provides for children and widows in Mozambique. Every bag of corn given will enable us to continue to provide this much needed nutrition in the coming year.
Our 2024 fundraising campaign is only 1020 bags of corn away from our goal!

We arrived back to South Africa to copies of our training manuals fresh from the printers in India! The ship with 56,000 manuals and exams arrives any day now! Pray with us for a safe and smooth delivery of these books and thank you all for your support for our literacy and leadership training!

Today we had the pleasure of helping a local family by providing a much needed wheelchair to a 5 year old disabled boy. This poor mom had been faced with leaving her child home alone while she went to work in her field. She had no way to take him with her as he has grown too big to carry. We pray that this chair will help him have a better quality of life.
Back to Mozambique for Lynn and I after a very busy but blessed time in both the U.S. and Canada. Had the privilege, after a fabulous mission conference in Madison WI, to spend a few days with Russell and his family, and Amanda and her gang. How privileged we are.
My brother Steve and his dear wife put us up and my uncle Stan and Sharon came with Naomi to see us off.
Thanks again to all who showed us such kindness and hospitality!
Thanks for your prayers and support.

After a significant journey from the west coast to the mid west US, we (Dwight and Lynn) had the wonderful privilege of reuniting with the good people of Shook construction and Piqua Christian church as well as Dr Roger and Katy Pacholka to share in the “Amelia walk to stop hunger” to help fund our Steps to Stop Hunger feeding program. Our heartfelt thanks to John and Sara Cleveland for hosting us and to all who participated!
We were also so privileged to share with the Piqua church on Sunday. A warm shoutout to pastor David and Becky Fishback.
Happy Fall! We are a couple months into our 2024 fundraiser and the tracker continues to fill in towards our goal of 3800 bags.
Tracker is currently at 2130 bags.
Thank you to everyone who has generously given.

Good people in Piqua, OH have organized this Amelia walk in her memory. The story of her little life is distressing, but you can help her life to count and bring hope and critical life saving baby formula and food to others.
Dwight and Lynn are visiting sponsors in the U.S. and promoting SAM Ministries U.S. Non profit registration and have the privilege to join this event this year and walk.
Thanks for taking the time to read the story, join the walk if you are able, or just make a donation using the link at the bottom of the post. Thank you!

This year we have faced increased food costs due to a terrible drought. When we were planning our “steps to stop hunger” walk in Mozambique we wanted to set a goal for how much we would raise. Last year our goal was 20,000 Mets (about $425 CAD). Our staff decided to step out in faith and despite the drought aim for 25,000 this year. We are surprised and delighted to announce that we raised a total of 33,930 Mets! (About $725 CAD!) Everyone gave so sacrificially and we are so grateful for their giving hearts ❤️ We are also very thankful Kerstin and Aiden Deleeuw could be here to celebrate with us.
Today the staff and invited guests at our mission base in Mozambique walked to raise support for our feeding program.
We LOVE when people come to visit and work alongside us. It has been a joy to have Kerstin Deleeuw and her brother Aiden here visiting us. They have been working hard! This we had the privilege of attending a local church and Aiden did an amazing job sharing his testimony. Thank you both!
