This year we have faced increased food costs due to a terrible drought. When we were planning our “steps to stop hunger” walk in Mozambique we wanted to set a goal for how much we would raise. Last year our goal was 20,000 Mets (about $425 CAD). Our staff decided to step out in faith and despite the drought aim for 25,000 this year. We are surprised and delighted to announce that we raised a total of 33,930 Mets! (About $725 CAD!) Everyone gave so sacrificially and we are so grateful for their giving hearts ❤️ We are also very thankful Kerstin and Aiden Deleeuw could be here to celebrate with us.
Today the staff and invited guests at our mission base in Mozambique walked to raise support for our feeding program.
We LOVE when people come to visit and work alongside us. It has been a joy to have Kerstin Deleeuw and her brother Aiden here visiting us. They have been working hard! This we had the privilege of attending a local church and Aiden did an amazing job sharing his testimony. Thank you both!
Today we had the privilege of giving one of our widows a brand new hand bike. She lost her leg to a land mine years ago and has been having troubles getting around. Her 77 year old neighbour helps her so this will be a blessing to both of them. We were also blessed to have Kerstin and Aiden Deleeuw here to help us. We are so thankful to those who gave so generously to make this dream a reality. You changed a life today!
Check out that smile! This lady is carrying a 50kg sack of corn on her head...often the only way they have to transport things in Mozambique. How many of us could even get a sack like that on our head...nevermind be smiling like that in the end?! Food brings joy!
Buy a bag of corn and help us bring smiles to many in Mozambique.

The 7th accommodation unit at our training center is well on its way to completion. This will be the first unit of the second “village” arrangement. Each unit houses 4 people who come for a variety of training events we hold throughout the year. Thank you for your kind support! Every unit we build takes the place of a well used but tired Safari tent.
Our 2024 Steps to Stop Hunger fundraiser is under way!
We invite you to join us in "taking steps" to reach our goal of 3800 bags.

Thank you to The Father’s House for launching our 2024 Steps to Stop Hunger fundraising campaign with a HUGE step!!
You bought 1605 of the 3800 bags of corn we need to reach our goal for this year!
We are overwhelmed by your amazing generosity.
Thanks to our incredible church and community, TFH raised $40,142.84 during this year's Walk for Hope! Your generosity will feed hundreds of children in Mozambique this year. Thank you for making a difference!

We finished another intensive pastors seminar in Mozambique today. We were blessed to have Pastor Rick Neufeld from Manitoba with us once again. Our missionary team along with several of our national leaders also brought some much needed teaching on forgiveness.

We are so thankful that Pastor Rick Neufeld is with us this week teaching to a packed house!
In Mozambique today we are beginning a week long intensive Pastors seminar. The week began with prayer and we had the opportunity to pray for Missionary Andy Kuret who is leaving on Saturday for Switzerland where he will get married in August. This week our theme is forgiveness and we had awesome first sessions.
The medal of honor for exemplary service will bear their name in perpetuity (The Earl and Ruth Trekofski medal of honor) and will be presented every year from now on to those who demonstrate like service to the community. “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven” Matt 5:16
How can we begin to express how honored and blessed we have felt since arriving in Brazil last week. The first and main event was the 40th anniversary celebration at Mount Horeb. There were photos, interviews for pod casts, performances and music by students and staff, carrying of flags representing Brazil, Canada and Mozambique. Ruth and Earl, Mount horeb founders, are well loved by the entire municipality and much love and words of appreciation have been shared. Last night they received honorary citizenship from the itaperucu city hall and a philanthropic award to be handed out annually will bear their name. They say “We just obeyed…” and God gave the increase. Thank you to all who have walked this journey with them through the years and upheld them and the work in Brazil with your support in so many ways!
Special moments!

This is a short video sharing a few scattered moments of our week here so far. To say our hearts have been moved is an understatement. We are humbled and honoured by the love poured out by the Brazil Mission, Monte Horebe. More photos of the big day to follow!

Six leaders graduated in the remote community of Minjal today! We were blessed to have been flown by Mercy Air into this community and three other teams into other communities where we have schools.
This group of leaders graduated after 14 years in our program persevering through COVID, cyclones, droughts and many other challenges!
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. We have much other great news to share from this 10 day outreach!

We inaugurated a community water project on Monday, then prepared and loaded our 8 ton truck to haul the jet A fuel for the helicopter and the rest of the camping gear we need to set up our base camp for 30+ seminars over the next 10 days. Thanks for your prayers since there are a lot of moving pieces (besides the helicopter drive train)!
We held our Annual General Meeting of the mission in Mozambique on Saturday and celebrated all God did over the past year! Expecting good things in the year ahead! What a faithful Father we serve!
We were honored and blessed to have had this amazing team visit from Piqua Christian Church in Ohio, US! John Cleveland (our SAM Ministries US board secretary) shared his passion for Mozambique and her people after leading the Shook construction team two years ago and his dear wife Sara along with Pastor Dave, his wife Becky and other intrepid souls made the journey and what an incredible time we had together!
Thank you for your prayers. Everyone survived the hectic 10 days plus travel and we look forward to seeing these dear people back soon!
