We don’t post as much as we’d like to but we’re super proud and excited for our next custom home design under construction right now in Revelstoke, B.C.!

This week our timberframer is putting up the custom locally-milled fir columns and beams on this special property overlooking the town. The front wall will be floor-to-ceiling class with uninterrupted views of the Monashee Mountains. 🏔️

We work on projects large and small to try to achieve the look and feel our clients are after. 👊

It was particularly satisfying to help some friends update their kitchen with new cabinet finishes and this amazing Japanese Hanami Sticks mosaic tile from River City Tile Company.

Great weekend of building with straw!

We were pleased to offer a 4-day Straw Bale Building Workshop for our client’s shop near Eckville, Alberta. 🔨

We had folks participating from Alberta, BC and the Yukon, all hoping to build their own home soon. 🏠

3 years in the making, it was great to see our clients in person, make new friends, and work together to raise this new straw bale building!

Douglas Cardinal's exhibit of Turtle Island's finest architects coming to Edmonton World-renowned architect Douglas Cardinal was in Edmonton Friday to announce an upcoming exhibition shining the spotlight on Indigenous architecture.

A house designed for Yukon winters. This owner-built house features our straw bale technology and is well insulated. Generous overhangs protect this modern story-and-half design for the elements.

Vaulted ceilings lead to an second floor meditation loft featuring two bedrooms and bath. Soak in the bathtub while looking up at the stars!

The main floor great room has a large functional kitchen, 10’ sliding door, and cozy wood stove. The rest of the floor features an accessible guest room and ensuite, large pantry and storage areas, and an attached garage that an function as a workshop in the cold winter months.

We look forward to seeing this house under construction soon!
