With the warmer weather arriving and the sun being ever more present during the day I want to remind you how important the daily use of SPF is. I know it can be challenging to set a good skincare routine and stick to it. But one thing that I can honestly say is most important is sunscreen. SPF should be worn year round (yes, even on gloomy winter days!) but I like to stress it most during summer time. Did you know that harmful UV rays are capable of passing through your house windows and your cars windshield meaning you could be exposed to the sun and reaping its negative outcomes without even being outside? There are so many great moisturizers out there with SPF already in them, so there’s no excuse! If you struggle to figure out what number SPF you need, do a little math equation to figure it out! This is calculated by multiplying the SPF number by the number of minutes it takes for your skin to begin to get rosy and warm (that is, without sun protection). For example, it takes my skin 30 minutes until it starts getting rosy from the sun, so with an SPF of 15 that means I’m protected for 450 minutes (or 7.5 hours). Sorry for the rant, but please.. apply the sunscreen!!

It’s finally here!! I am so excited to share that the spa is now available to service clients. Niagara health did their inspection today and gave the go-ahead to open next week. Please have patience as there are a number of clients wanting an appointment right away. I look forward to seeing everyone and using this new space :) -Riley

I know it’s been a bit since an update on the renovations, and many of you have been anxious to know when you can book your next appointment. The original estimate was that the spa would be ready to go middle of November. Unfortunately there have been some set backs, like any project this can happen. The hope is that Featherly Beauty will be up and running in January. I will be reaching out to those who booked online anticipating their appointment. As for all my amazing clients, I look forward to seeing you again soon.

I have some big news to share! As many of you already know, the spa is in the basement of my parents house, which has been for sale for the last while. Well.. it is no longer for sale, it is SOLD. What does this mean for Featherly Beauty? We will be relocating at the end of this month. Don’t worry, we aren’t going far! As of today, all online booking will be unavailable to allow myself work-life balance as packing and planning begin. The new spa will need to be renovated, which means I will sadly have to shut down (temporarily!). The last available day for appointments will be October 3rd. All appointments scheduled beyond that date will need to be rescheduled, unfortunately at this point I do not know how far out that will be. If you would like to book an appointment before October 3rd please reach out, there is availability (day or evening). I look forward to starting a new chapter in my business with all of you
