The Wilmot church gym floor is being refinished this week, iaido classes are canceled. Classes will resume next week at the usual times.

Please note that kendo class for Sunday, March 31, is cancelled due to the closure of the O'Keefe Centre for the Easter long weekend.

Kendo practice tomorrow (Sunday, March 10) is still scheduled to run from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
However, because this will be the second Sunday of March, this means our clocks will "spring forward" by 1 hour to daylight saving time. This means that the clock in the gym will be giving us accurate time once again.

If you are a kendo beginner, we will be working on this set of katas, the Kendo Kihon Bokuto Waza, or Basic Kendo Techniques with Bokuto.

Kendo Interview: Hyun-June Choi Sensei, President of CKF Budogu Zen had an opportunity to interview the President of Canadian Kendo Federation, Hyun-June Choi Sensei.

On Sunday, June 4th, we had the visit of fellow kendokas from Halifax Shuurenkan Kendo Club. Thank you all for coming!

This week will be the last week of practice before the gym shuts down for the holidays. Therefore, our last 2022 practice will be held Sunday December 18.

Training will resume on Sunday January 8 at regular time (2-4pm)

We got bumped by a university program and we lost our Wednesday evening booking for kendo practice. We hope to find another venue for our weeknight practice. Hope this is temporary.

I keep seeing freezing rain warnings for tomorrow. I’ll confirm tomorrow morning with the O’Keefe Centre whether or not they are open.

Of course, don’t take the unnecessary risks: I prefer to know that you are safe at home than injured because of a traffic accident.
