These two pictures perfectly illustrate the difference between a healthy wax layer and a failing or failed wax layer. The failed layer doesn't repel water (or anything else, for that matter.) The water clings to the surface.
A good healthy wax coat repels water and pollutants, and looks shiny even when dirty

The wax layer protects your clear coat. It's the first line of defence between your car and the outside world. Once it fails, your clear coat is next.
Once this happens, your car will start to depreciate drastically.

A good wax coat is more than just pretty. It's the true layer of protection for any vehicle.
