Polar Real Tropical Fruit

Paletas are Latin American ice pops, usually made from fresh fruit. The name comes from palo, or "stick," and the diminutive ending –eta, referencing the little flat stick frozen into each item; the stores, carts and kiosks where they are sold are known as paleterías, and the sellers are called paleteros. In Colombia, a paleta that is in the shape of a cup is generally referred to as a polar from

which the company gets its name. Here at Polar Real Tropical Fruit, we have created a product that will appeal to our customers’ tastes and cravings. Our paletas can be divided in two categories: milk-based and water-based. Milk-based flavors such as strawberry, rum & raisin, coconut, vanilla and Lukuma are creamy in texture. Water-based flavours such as pineapple, mango, lime, fruit punch, black berry, passion fruit, soursop, guava, lulo, cashew and tangerine are made from fresh juices and some include bits of fresh fruit. Most of our flavours are normally sweetened with sugar.

En Amérique du Sud, les paletas sont des bâtonnets glacés, habituellement composés de fruits frais. L’origine du mot paleta est dérivé du mot « palo », qui signifie « bâton », et le suffixe « –eta » qui se réfère au petit bâton plat surgelé à l’intérieur de chacune d’elles. Les magasins et kiosques qui les vendent se nomment paleterías et les vendeurs, paleteros. En Colombie, les paletas en forme d’une coupe sont nommées « polar » et voilà l’origine du nom de la compagnie. Les saveurs des paletas se divisent en deux catégories : à base de lait et à base d’eau. Les saveurs à base de lait, entre autres, fraises, rhum et raisin, noix de coco, lucuma et notre nouvelle saveur, café colombiano, ont une texture plutôt crémeuse. Cependant, les paletas à base d’eau aux saveurs telles qu’ananas, mangue, limette, punch aux fruits, mûres, fruit de la passion, corossol, goyave, lulo, acajou et tangerine, par exemple, sont produits de jus et contiennent des morceaux de fruits surgelés. La majorité des saveurs des paletas sont sucrées à l’aide de sucre

El nombre viene de palo, o del “palillo,” y del diminuto - eta, refiriéndose al pequeño palillo plano congelado en el centro; los almacenes, los carros, y los quioscos en donde se venden se conocen como peleterías, y los vendedores como paleteros. En Colombia, las paletas en forma de vaso redondo se conocen como polares, así dándole el nombre a nuestra compañía. Aquí en Polar Real Tropical Fruit nos dedicamos a crear un producto que satisfaga el gusto de nuestros consumidores. Por eso, hemos creado dos categorías de paletas: a base de leche y a base de agua. Los sabores a base de leche tales como fresa, ron con pasas, coco, lukuma y nuestro nuevo sabor de Café Colombiano son cremosos en textura. Los sabores a base de agua tales como piña, mango, mora, coctel de fruta, maracuyá, guanábana, guayaba, lulo, y mandarina se hacen de jugos y algunos incluyen pedacitos de fruta fresca.

Polar Real Tropical Fruit is a family business founded by Mr.Melo in 1997 in Toronto, Ontario.

Mr.Melo and his family immigrated from Colombia and arrived to Canada in 1996. Mr.Melo, attempting to reach the “American Dream” had the vision to bring Colombia's culture to Canada with two tasty Paleta flavours (Coconut & Blackberry) passed down from a great aunt.

Fast forward to today, PolarRTF has released more than 15 additional paleta flavours as well as 4 Juice flavours and counting. Here at PolarRTF our family has worked hard into perfecting each flavour in order to satisfy the taste buds of every single one of our customers.
