We are pleased to share that Halifax Central Libraries is hosting the launch of Donna Jones Alward’s newest novel, “When the World Fell Silent”, on Tuesday August 6th. The event takes place at Halifax Central Library, 5440 Spring Garden Road, Room 301, from 7:00-8:30. Admission is free and Bookmark will be in attendance with books available for purchase. It's the summer of Arthurian legend! 👑 Two retellings of the story of King Arthur have arrived in our humble bookstore: 🗡️THE BRIGHT SWORD🗡️ by Lev Grossman and 🌕MOONBOUND🌕 by Robin Sloan. Were they bequeathed to us by a lady in a lake? Maybe not (thankfully no water damage here) but we sure are excited about both of these books. We almost always have the 1958 classic THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING by T. H. White in stock, too, if you want something closer to the OG 15th century text.
This coming Saturday, Halifax Central Library will be hosting celebrated Newfoundland author, Gerard Collins. He will be discussing his novels and writing in general with Carol Bruneau.
