Drop by Woozles between July 2nd and 30th and BE ON THE LOOKOUT! The iconic character has lost his glasses, but we’re sure they’re around here somewhere….can you find them? Successful searchers will win a button AND be entered to win a big basket of Waldo-y wonderfulness, valued at $150.

A draw for the winner will take place on July 31st.

Join us this Sunday, May 26 at 4:30pm for the launch of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑶𝒍𝒅 𝑶𝒂𝒌 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒆, written by Hilary Briar (.may.briar) and Reid Briar () with illustrations by Angela Doak (). This musical tale follows the lifecycle of an old oak tree - from a home for a robin’s nest to a nurse log and the beginnings of new life. Come join us in celebration and song for this new book!

Join us on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30pm for the book launch of 𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬, by Nova Scotia author Heidi Tattrie Rushton (). Heidi will be hosting a live reading, book signing, and there will be a special guest appearance by Dee the therapy dog!

Rita Van Tassel () has created a handmade plush toy of Bobo the Super Dog from the book which you could win! Raffle tickets are available at the shop for $5, all proceeds from the raffle go to the NS SPCA and SHAID Tree Animal Shelter.

Great news! Woozles story time is back!

The first story time of the season is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 at 10:30am in the beautiful Halifax Public Gardens. Join us every Tuesday at 10:30 thereafter for a free and family-friendly story time! We meet outside by the big tree near the cafe. All are welcome!

Please note: this event will be cancelled if it is raining. We will announce any cancellations on our social media accounts by 8am the morning of.

The biannual award recognizes the achievements of children’s book authors and illustrators, presented by the International Board of Books for Young People (.international). Sydney Smith is the first Canadian winner!

We’ll be celebrating the release of Meghan Marentette’s () new book, 𝘙𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘙𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, on Sunday, April 28th. From 4:30-6pm Meghan will be available to sign books, introduce Rumie and Uncle Hawthorne, and will share for the first time in person the inside of one of her book sets! So mark your calendars!

Danielle’s CBC’s “best of” picture books, Freddie the Flyer and Alis the Aviator, feature pioneering Canadian Indigenous aviators. Drop-in, meet the author and do some fun book-related activities!
