This image was taken during the 1920s by William A. Chatfield. It shows the incline railway at Wentworth Street at night. The East End Incline Railway was opened in 1895 and closed in 1936.

Built as a private dwelling by William Heisse in 1868, this Waterdown building became The Right House Hotel in 1875. The hotel was sold to Patrick Kirk and renamed the Kirk House Hotel, in 1888. Today, it is the home of the Royal Coachman, pub.
