To the Class of 2024: "It is now your turn to change with the world and apply your new technical knowledge. Remember others use technology but you can create technology.
You are the change makers and you will make the future.
I would encourage you to be inquisitive, think creatively and take action. You will find the take action step is where most people stumble. Donât stumble, instead be fearless, be confident, be active, take that first step where others wonât.
In these actions you will find your success."
Thank you to Mohawk Alumni, Jason Nagy for sharing his advice with the recent graduates at their Convocation ceremony earlier this month.
To the Class of 2024: "One of the most important lessons I learned is the value of perseverance. In the world of insurance and business, as in many fields, success doesnât come overnight. It requires patience, hard work, and a willingness to learn continuously. When faced with difficult clients or complex policies, I reminded myself of why I chose this profession: to help people protect what matters most to them.
Embrace change and be adaptable. Stay curious and never stop learning. Your education doesnât end here; itâs a lifelong journey."
Thank you to Mohawk Alumni, Brett Lawrie for returning to campus last week to share words of advice with our newest graduates.
To the Class of 2024: "Let us acknowledge the virtue of patience. As the saying goes, "good things come to those who wait." Patience is not merely the ability to wait, but the capacity to remain steadfast in the pursuit of our goals, even when the journey is long and arduous, even when the journey is challenging."
Thank you to Mohawk Alumni, Pramit Mehta for sharing his advice with our graduates last week.
To the Class of 2024: "In a world filled with noise and doubt, it's easy to succumb to the fears and insecurities projected onto us by others. But I urge you, graduates, to silence the outside noise and listen to the voice within. The voice that tells you that everything is possible if you dare to dream and believe in yourself.
As you embark on this new chapter of your lives, remember that the path to success is rarely linear. It is paved with setbacks, challenges, and moments of doubt. But, it is also adorned with triumphs, breakthroughs, and moments of sheer joy. Embrace every twist and turn, for they are the threads that weave the tapestry of your journey."
Thank you to Mohawk Alumni, Melanie Wong for sharing her advice with graduates at their Convocation ceremony last week.
To the Class of 2024: "Normalize changing career paths, being a life-long learner, and doing what you love, not for materialistic things, or titles, but for time. Time is the only thing we have less of every day â use your time wisely."
Thank you to Mohawk Alumni, Reta Ismail for sharing her wisdom and advice with the newest graduates.

To the Class of 2024: "If there is one thing I wish for you to take away from this experience, it is in your power and your agency to do something worthwhile. Becoming informed and completing an education for a career of service to others is just the beginning.
And itâs not just in these pivotal moments that we can be proud of how we have used our energy and will power. Itâs in the day to day, at lunch breaks with colleagues at the new job you WILL get, with patients or clients at the end of the day when you just canât wait to get home, with the cafĂŠ cashier who knows your usual, and with those you love at home.
Your power is in your ability to be fully present, listen and observe, share a kind word or smile, advocate for someone who needs help."
Thank you to Mohawk Alumni, Jessica Belgrave Sookhoo for sharing her advice with our newest graduates at last week's Convocation ceremony.
