Keith Marshall was born and educated in the United Kingdom where he achieved a diploma in Art & Design. Keith spent most of his working life involved in engineering design in the automotive industry.

He doesn’t like to specialize in any one aspect of photography, rather, he likes to be flexible and challenge himself in various areas.

Keith does get inspiration from the great artists of the past, both photographers and painters. Many of his images have an abstract and graphic quality to them due to his choice of camera angle and position.

Keith’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Laura Beaton is Toronto born, with roots are in Scottish bagpipes and English tea. Introduced to a variety of cultures at a young age, Laura’s creative curiosity was inspired by a Chinese Brush painting on an antique tea wagon found in the heart of Chinatown. In constant wonder of the intersectionality of cultures, she maintains the role of “quiet activist” where paint meets canvas.

She paints in a fusion of aspects and styles using mixed media to create works that are representative of the commonalities among people. Through her use of mixed media acrylics on canvas she can convey abstract thoughts and ideas that impact life as we know it. Often, they reflect situations with complex implications and are not easily or quickly resolved.

‘The Woods #1 & #2’ represent the earth’s elements as they relate to the sustainability of the woods. Textures of a variety of wood are featured as well as the spirituality and zen feeling of the woods.

Laura’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Joanna Zakrzewski’s art stays away from social or political issues. It focuses instead on everyday moments of beauty and interest, on storytelling of who and how we are. Staying away from “doom and gloom” of current news, it brings relief and moments of happiness and freedom.

Joanna believes in community and is an active member of the Burlington Fine Arts Association where she helps organizing workshops on topics relevant to an artist career, like different painting techniques, how to run your business, or how to apply to a juried show. Joanna has been selected into several juried shows on provincial and national levels, and is currently working on approaching galleries to exhibit her work.

Joanna’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Frank Myers’ most satisfying work involves photographing people, which mostly falls into two categories: Candid or street photography and environmental portraits. He believes that good candid photography does more than capture a moment in time. A successful candid image can tell a story and reveal much about the lives of the people photographed.

Frank’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Anita Thomas is a visual artist and photographer with passions laying in aerial, aviation, landscape and street photography. Her work hangs in private collections and professional offices throughout Canada, the United States, France, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

"As both a visual artist and a photographer, and one who enjoys the post-production editing of photography, I adore the artistic technique of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). I love the abstracted results of moving the camera as I depress the shutter. Then enhancing the shadows and highlights in post-production allows me to creatively push the boundaries of what started off as something as simple as a drab tree trunk in winter. I just love the freedom to explore and experiment with this unique form of photography." says Anita.

Her work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Barbara Chapman has a deep love of the earth, growing things, and the environment as its impact on our lives provides a richness of inspiration and a deeper meaning to her work.

“Our souls can be moved by the act of simply being in the forest. The process of renewal and new life that takes place at the base of giants is a constant cycle of life, death and life again; not unlike our own human lives. A network of roots, moss, fungi, and creatures entangle themselves in the magic of each other’s webs of restoration and regrowth.

A series of paintings have emerged from the observation of the shapes, colours and silences of Canada’s boreal forests and the temperate rainforests of the Pacific Northwest, honouring the ancients and not so ancients. Messages for the environment are particularly important in this seemingly time of loss for our planet’s wildest places. Born in eastern Canada, and informed by the natural world, sky and ever changing atmosphere.”

Barbara’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Heather Vollans is a mosaicist. Materials matter: they are why she mosaics. The find, the “playing” with materials before design and ex*****on, and conversations that develop around work are all important aspects of Heather’s process. Materials have a voice: sometimes loud, sometimes soft, but always strong.

The exploration of materials and how they work alone or, occasionally together with other materials, to create either harmony or disparity, is what fires her. Materials dictate design; never the other way around.

Heather’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Victoria Wallace is an acrylic, encaustic, mixed media visual artist, and art educator. Toronto-born and now living in Burlington, Ontario, her work is shown in galleries in Toronto, Mississauga, Peterborough, Haliburton, Warkworth, in festivals, solo, and group exhibitions across Ontario.

"I see myself as a realist gone awry, with my conceptual artistic ventures hovering somewhere between surrealistic narratives and that of magic realism, which paints a realistic view of the world while also adding magical elements, often blurring the lines between fantasy and reality. This frees me to indulge myself in my paintings with my passions for interior and exterior settings, animals, nature, and so on. My preferred painting media are acrylic and encaustic, often combining dry media, such as Conté, pastels, charcoal, graphite, coloured pencils, water soluble drawing media, crayons, but also including oil paints and sticks, ink, archival markers, Washi, collage elements, mica, and more."

Victoria’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Ron is an award winning graphic designer with over 40 years of experience in the corporate art world and who had originally aspired to be an illustrator. His work has been viewed and appreciated world-wide, his paintings have been on display with Fine Art America for several years.

Loving nature and the beauty of our great country Ron’s paintings are a little bit of self-indulgence. He creates subjects using pieces of multiple images (trees, skies, rocks, water) and his graphics background to create images that will bring challenges to his creative skills and enjoyment while painting them. He hopes that others get as much enjoyment from the finished results as he did from creating them. Ron believes that an artist enjoys the challenges presented to them. His paintings are a great source of relaxation to him. He hopes that others simply enjoy them as much as one of his collectors (who has acquired many pieces over the years) does.

Ron’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Lan Gao, a passionate and imaginative photographer from Greater Hamilton, sees the world through a unique lens, transforming the mundane into the extraordinary. Her deep love for nature and creativity shines through in her photography, which is more than a hobby—it's a journey of exploration and discovery.

With a perspective that transcends the ordinary, Lan creates stunning, evocative visuals that are deeply personal. As she presents her work at the Art at Seven Innovation exhibition, she invites viewers to experience the world as she sees it: A canvas of nature's artistry, where every image holds a story waiting to be discovered.

Janet Horne Cozens’ artistic journey delves into the interplay between the natural world and humanity, inviting viewers to contemplate our place within this shared realm. Through the expressive language of colour, texture, and shape, she channels the influences of the Group of Seven and First Nations artists, drawing also from her own background as a printmaker. In doing so, Janet has crafted a distinctive style that not only presents the familiar landscapes the observer anticipates, but also reveals the concealed impacts of human presence on these scenes.

She employs man-made pigments purposefully, infusing these traditional landscapes with human elements—mirroring our unceasing influence on nature's canvas. This infusion serves as a poignant reminder of how we've intertwined ourselves with the very landscapes we cherish.

Janet’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Ramiro Quiros has been a photographer for many years, yet only opened up to sharing what he does in the past year or so. Ramiro is trying to grow as an artist, and for that reason he would love the opportunity to do so in his own community.

His approach to photography is simple, yet profound. Through his lens, he strives to capture moments in time, presenting the world as it truly exists. As an artist, he holds an unwavering commitment to portraying reality as he sees it, free from excessive editing or alterations. In today's age of AI and readily available editing tools, there's a tendency to transform photographs into unreal spectacles of colour and fantasy. While he has immense respect for this form of artistry, it's not his chosen path. Ramiro’s photography serves as a tribute to the genuine beauty of the real world, celebrating the authentic interplay of light, shadows, colours, and scenes. He endeavours to immortalize those fleeting moments and emotions that are truly one-of-a-kind.

Ramiro’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Marg Duggan Jones has always been drawn to oceans, crashing surf, lakes, majestic skies, mountains, and lush valleys. Her heart fills and all tension eases when she is surrounded by any of them. Marg’s artwork has become a physical representation of the emotions, colours, movements and marks she associates with the natural world – not an actual place. Her hope is that you will find as much joy in viewing her work as she does in creating them. Marg lives in the beautiful Dundas Valley where she can be inspired on a daily basis. Her paintings however, live in Canada, the United States and Ireland.

Marg’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Classically trained and based in Hamilton, Ontario, Laura Heaney is a multifaceted artist equipped with a diverse skill set. She can usually be found sitting in the same position for hours while perfecting the most minute detail in a painfully crafted drawing or clad in paint-covered overalls as she enlivens a canvas with swaths of acrylic. Her themes, mediums and subject matter vary, but her works share a distinct combination of traditional techniques and subjects often found in the Renaissance and Romantic eras while combined with more contemporary motifs and accessible materials.

Laura is as likely to pick up a coloured pencil as she is a brush or a dip pen. Bolstering a visual arts education with studies in both history and art history, it is easy to see how her love of the old-meets-new developed in her artistic practice. Her work has been represented in galleries and shows throughout Southern Ontario, the Canadian Maritimes, Quebec and New York.

Laura’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca

Mark Emmerson’s photography spans decades in both North and South America, the Caribbean, and in Europe. An increasingly serious endeavour, it has grown in sophistication, both artistically and technically. While the preponderance of his captures are of a scenic variety - water, land and natural settings - there is a growing library of architectural, abstract, and other genres.

Mark’s photography has been included in galleries in Canada and the USA with sales in both venues. He has participated in photography exhibits associated with the Art Gallery of Burlington, the LATOW Photographers’ Guild, and ArtWorks Oakville, including solo exhibitions at Julia’s Ristorante in downtown Oakville and the Art Gallery of Burlington, and has enjoyed success at a number of juried shows and other awards. Currently, Mark is a member of Art Gallery of Burlington, Latow Photographers Guild and Artworks Oakville.

Mark’s work is part of Exhibition No. 3, open Feb 8 to June 5. You can learn more at https://artatseveninnovation.ca
