HWDSB has begun sharing plans surrounding elementary and secondary remote learning options for the 2021-22 school year. We understand this is an important decision and hope to address some questions regarding these learning models.

We have asked families and students to commit to a remote learning option through the Parent Portal by June 1, 2021. Read our post to learn more about:

Continuing Education Summer Skill Builder (non-credit) programs and the credit Reach Ahead program (for students entering Grade 9 this fall) are now open for registration. Be sure to sign up before May 31, 2021!

Ontario Government shared important updates during its May 13 announcement. Here are some key pieces of information:

• Stay-at-Home Order extended until at least June 2
• Remote learning to continue
• Youth vaccine appointments can be booked during week of May 31

If you are considering it but worry about the “brain scrape”. This is NOT the “brain scrape”. They simply swab your child’s nose , much “nicer” than the symptomatic testing

Asymptomatic testing is an important layer of protection that helps to track and prevent the spread of COVID‐19. Participation is voluntary and consent is required for students under 18 years old.

❗Temporary Closure of West End Urgent Care Centre at 690 Main Street West as of Monday April 19, 2021.

This measure is necessary to create critical care capacity in response to the pandemic. Urgent care clinic staff and physicians are needed to support this effort across our hospitals.
